Helpful staff even though I didn't know Spanish, everything looks amazing and they have mini bottles of Rompope available here which I hadn't seen anywhere else in Puebla.

Simply put, the best place to get traditional Mexican candy in Puebla. My personal recommendation? Tortitas de santa clara and macarrones (dulce deeche sweets) fantastic and super recommended

Was not planning on buying any candy because I’m not that much of a sweet tooth. But wanted something I could give to family. The famous candy street (located south in the Santa Clara barrio) was a bit too far for a last minute shopping trip, so I looked up “dulces” on google maps and found a bunch of shops a few blocks north of the zocalo. Wandering around, nothing really caught my eye (because all the shops seem so ordinary and alike). Then I walked past this shop and you can note the presence it has. Indoors was beautiful like a Parisian macaron shop. Turns out this place is pretty historic. And they make really good traditional sweets. The woman tending the shop helped me pick out some candy. Each is individually wrapped/sealed in it’s own plastic sleeve, or rice paper-like wrapping. Ended up filling a little box for $110 pesos. I was expecting to spend more. Note: They accept Visa / MC — but not American Express.

I loved La gran fama! Wonderful shop with great customer service. The selection of candies, and pastries is impressive and they are simply delicious. It’s and old shop with a lot of history. We also bought Talavera from them, not certified but yet beautiful and inexpensive compared to the certified one. It’s not a matter of if, but when we come back to Puebla we will definitely visit this wonderful shop again.
