It was a very well-paced program and we left feeling very confident in our abilities! Each maestro/maestra was so wonderful and were so unique in their teaching styles and abilities. The school is straight out of a fairy tale and the jardín is just beyond magical! Great spot for conversation class! We arrived in late August and stayed till mid November. We were there for so many holidays and events like Cervantinos, it was a great time to visit! We stayed at an Airbnb just up the block and had the time of our lives! The hiking in Guanajuato (especially near to La Hacienda, i.e. La Bufa) was exceptional! Life is good here!! I would recommend staying as long as you can!! We would do this 1,000 times over-- it's that special.

Every part of my experience there was wonderful. The only problem was that I could only stay for 2 weeks! The teachers were all very skilled and knowledgeable about Spanish grammar and provided a variety of different teaching styles which kept me engaged. Starting at La Hacienda with intermediate level Spanish, I really appreciated for the first time learning not just the grammatical rules but some of the reasons behind the grammatical rules in a more holistic way. The relaxed atmosphere, beautiful historic location, and the provocative conversation classes were also integral parts of my study there. Highly recommended for anyone looking to learn Spanish in the beautiful and unique city of Guanajuato. Thank you Luis, Esme, Mariana, Caty, and Uli! I hope to return soon!

Classes are not too didactic, but are organized around grammar practice or reading articles and having open discussion for more advanced students, which requires you to share your thoughts in a variety of verb tenses and using vocabulary. When you get “stuck” the teacher chimes in supportively to help. I also felt that the value was very good for the price. I recommend this school.

Wonderful, thoughtful instructors, each hour has a slightly different format (we do 3 hours of grammar, and 1 of conversation practice). The school has a relaxed atmosphere, located in a gorgeous hacienda, the teachers focus on where you can improve and cater the classes to things you want to learn. Love it here! We have met so many wonderful friends and connections.

He was thorough, patient, and just a great teacher in general. The hacienda was beautiful and it was only a short walk from the center of the city that I enjoyed every morning. I would highly recommend attending this school if you want to learn, improve, or master your Spanish. I will definitely be returning to Guanajuato and this school in the future.

If you are anything like me, you are reading this because you are considering going to Guanajuato to learn Spanish. And all I can say is: do it! You won't regret it. Especially if you do it with La Hacienda. They are incredible teachers, who not only are masters at their craft of teaching the language, they are wonderful people. I spent 6 weeks at La Hacienda from Dec 2021-Feb 2022, and I miss everyone there dearly. They will get your Spanish going no matter what your level is - they are great about tailoring the instruction to your specific needs, and helping you along your grammatical and conversational progress.
