Bitter-sweet experience: The food is ok but the place is overpriced and overrated. We were looking forward to visit, but we left not wanting to come back again. Besides the $75 water, adding chicken to a pasta that costs aprox. $175 and getting charged $300 for a couple of strips of grill chicken did not make any sense to me (I'm talking about a $475 alfredo pasta with some chiken at the top). When I was about to pay I told the gentleman to add 10% for the tip and he said: 15% thank you! (I did not feel like arguing at that point). I would say that the service is overwhelming so I'm not coming back. Update: 02/15/2022 Three weeks ago I went to a restaurant and the manager gently approached us to check on us, after talkig about the place and food I brought to him the experience that I had at Madalena and he told me that those places are especially planned for 'new rich people' who don't really care about the quality of the food or the price but instead they just want to show off, he nailed it!! That's the best definition for those kind of places: An experience especially planned and designed for 'new' rich people.

Best restaurant in Guadalajara, incredible!

Came here because it was recommended to us. When we walked in we were placed at a table in front of an enormous TV screen. Other than the screens, the layout of the place is quite nice. The staff is clearly trying to sell you the most expensive dishes and drinks. It feels pushy and it made us feel slightly uncomfortable to have 4 to 5 servers hanging around our table trying to see if they can sell us something extra. We had some dishes to share which were all quite nice except for the Ceviche. We had a few bites before we told the waiter we didn't like it and he could take the plate. When the bill was presented they almost forced us to leave a 20% tip event hough no one had apologized for the ought tasting ceviche. The next morning I woke up with a terrible food poisoning which I assume was caused by the couple of bites I had from the ceviche... Long story short, we'd definitely don't recommend this place even though the setting may seem appealing.

Food is fine, staff are intense and ready to rip you off any chance they get. Definitely won’t go again. The restaurant left a bitter taste into our vacation.

One of the BEST restaurants in Mexico, we had the best hamachi here!!!

Food was delicious. A bit pricey though. One of my table mates was offered a $770 steak that they passed on. And it wasn’t even the biggest one. I had the filet mignon. The steak was cooked perfect and the sides were great and big enough to share with. Smoking is allowed inside, which for me was different since in the USA, smoking is only allowed outside or on a patio. Not too familiar with Mexico’s standards on this. Would definitely visit again.

I would give it 10 stars if possible. Excellent service, all the food we ordered was delicious and big portions, great cocktails and beautiful decoration. One of the best restaurants I’ve been in Mexico. A must try if you’re in Guadalajara!!
