Spanish restaurant located in front of Lincoln Park in the heart of Polanco. The place is somewhat upscale (for example, tables had cloth, kind of rarity these days), but there isn't any dress code. Went with some friends for an early dinner on a weekday. We shared several tapas: food was delicious. Staff was courteous. Place is not too expensive.

La Mallorquina, Polanco, Mexico City Spanish/Basque Cuisine A beautiful and sunny Sunday afternoon that turned into one of the best dining-experiences I've ever had in Mexico City. In my view Carlos Arrieta's La Mallorquina is a solid contender for being one of the best restaurants in Mexico City, however, is incapable of being too pretentious due to the amazing hospitality and pure-ness of its food. Each dish will leave you speechless, and better educated on true Basque/Spanish Cuisine. The Ambience Nestled in the heart of Polanco, La Mallorquina is found in a non-assuming corner overlooking Parque Lincoln. Your dining experience is sure to come with lots of people watching while your pallet is in pure bliss. Within the restaurant you'll find subtle hints of the logo everywhere you look. The locale is separated by a bespoke wine cellar into two parts (one which can be used for private events). The feel is "fine dining-esque" without being too pretentious, and the wait-staff is sure to make you feel as if you were at home. Intimate lighting and tasteful décor make la Mallorquina a great place for any occasion, from a date to a foody work meet, you're sure to leave very well satisfied. The Food In order, this is what I had: Tortilla Española A modest and restrained entrance to the Basque and another 3 main dishes. This is a simple Spanish Tortilla served on-top of home-baked bread. Spread some of the garlic aioli you get on this and prepare yourself for the next dish. Huevos Del Patron (Con Foie Gras) Patatas and a super-rich Foie Gras are the base of perfectly fried egg and topped with Jamon Serrano. Do yourself a favor and cut it up well, and your palette will thank you. Small dish with a generous amounts of flavor, get a piece of every part of the dish with every bite. Huachinango A la Donostiarra A classic of the Basque, this was truly the best Sea Bass I've ever had. You'd never think that such few ingredients can produce such complex and delicious flavors. The fish is cooked to absolute perfection and literally melts in your mouth. The portion was also generous, so sharing is caring. Arroz Meloso Con Rabo de Toro Paired this with a bottle of Rejadorada Roble (tinto). Each bite was incredibly rich with flavor with each grain of rice cooked to perfection, the wine made an excellent pair and perfectly deglazed the fatty and richness of the Arroz Meloso. Tarta Santiago The finale. A classic Spanish desert that goes really well with some coffee or even better, I'd recommend re-hydrating your palette with a Carajillo after every bite. Grab a piece of the Tarta and order some Caramel Ice Cream to go with every bite. This restaurant has left a lasting impression longing for more of its food. Hospitable staff, no-bull original Basque cuisine, beautiful presentation, tasteful and thorough wine list, and a wonderful desert. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Chill place to eat a lobster. The food was good but I do wish the lobster came with the shell instead. Otherwise great place
