★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the best places to go for breakfast. I highly recommend the guajalotongo - tamal topped with chilaquiles. You also can’t go wrong with any variety of their atoles. High quality food with great prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really enjoyed the food at Nacion del Maiz. Very tasty, authentic and reasonably priced, especially for this neighbourhood. Also, friendly and patient with a Canadian with no espanol. I highly recommend and will be back for more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came across La Nación del Maíz today. My wife is gluten free and we figured if all we got was a gluten-free meal, then great. We got much more than that! The horchata was fantastic, sweet and creamy. We each got chilaquiles, one beef and green, the other chicken and red. Really wonderful! To top it off, the gentleman who helped us, Marco?, was very patient and made some great suggestions. I speak Spain restaurant Spanish so we were able to get us a wonderful meal. I highly recommend a visit.

10 out of 10 - For a hearty breakfast, I recommend the Chilaquiles (fried corn tortillas, that are sautéed with green [spicy & the best one] or red salsa [less spicy], and topped with cheese, crema, and onion). Add chicken and two fried eggs if you want to eat them how I do.
If you’re still hungry, add two tacos a la plancha (grilled), and choose longaniza (sausage) meat with cheese.
The Good:
+ Excellent service. Professional, friendly, and anticipated our needs (refills, plate pickup, food recommendations).
+ Visually impressive dishes.
+ Dishes are flexible to accommodate vegetarian diets.
+ Clean, fresh, homemade ingredients stand out. Balanced profiles.
+ Comfortable outdoor seating.
The Okay:
