It's ok but not really the best club. It has a weird smell of cheese or popcorn inside and they don't accept credit cards in the entrance, only inside.

Fun and good music

Good music, wicked lighting, and a nicely laid out dancefloor. Big TV screen above the dancefloor as well, where they play music videos of the music being played.

EXCEPT i put our tables bill on my mastercard. i was charged the correct amount at first. a few days later i checked my onlne banking and they charged me another 100 USD dollars for no reason. i am from canada so will be impossible to get it back. Hi! My partner and I went to La Papaya and we did not have a good experience at all. It’s a bit expensive to get in (they only take cash) which is fine but not worth it for the service. After paying, we were intersected by a few waiters right when we came in, I thanked them and told them we were just going to go straight to the bar since we personally prefer to order drinks directly at the bar, walk around the place and dance without getting a table. When we got to the bar, I asked the bartender if he had any mezcal cocktails, he was very rude and said “talk to the waiter”, I asked if I couldn’t order directly from him and he said no so I turned around to go find one but there was already one right next to me ready to take my order. So I asked the same question but the waiter didn’t know, my parter was about to order and really seemed ridiculous that we had to order from the waiter next to me, so that he could tell the bartender that was right in front of me what I wanted. They do this so that the minute you order form the waiter you have already opened a tab with them and have to pay extra for the service instead of just paying as we go directly form the bar, I understand it’s their job but I would still like to be given the option of not opening a tab if I don’t want to, which is not possible here. After I asked the waiter about any mezcal drinks, he called someone else because he didn’t know either, the third person came over, I asked the same question and he started going down the drinks menu I had, after about a minute of looking at all the drinks, he said they didn’t have any mezcal drinks. They really need to train their staff to know these things, the menu doesn’t have any descriptions other than the name of the drink in Spanish so you have no clue what you’re ordering. The place was pretty much empty when we got there around 11:00 pm, they didn’t have any dancing music so after about 5 minutes of being there we just walked out of the place feeing disappointing and absolutely taken advantage of, they seemed to only want our money. We come to Huatulco from the United States quite often and I’ve never been to La papaya before until this time but I will NEVER go back, worst money spent ever.

Decent drinks and good service. The party just starts late. It started filling up at midnight on weekends but no one was dancing except 1 or 2 people. Don’t know if it’s the ambiance or if people need to get super drunk before dancing but it was very low energy. We left at 1am because it didn’t seem like it was going to start.
