BlueSkiesOfTubac Tubac, , ArizonaFor our New Year’s holiday, a group of 20 friends from Southern Arizona, spent three delightful days at La Posada Del Rio Sonora in Banamichi, Sonora, Mexico. We had secured all 10 rooms / suites for our private celebration! This historic property, on the plaza (zocolo) of Banamichi, is a beautiful little ecotourism hotel. The vibrant colors of Mexico are used throughout the establishment and beautiful Mexican tile work is everywhere. Each room is decorated differently with special attention to detail and comfort. One truly feels as though they have entered a hidden oasis when they arrive at La Posada! From the lush plant filled courtyard… to the sunset terrace for happy hour… to the beautiful dining room (the food was wonderful) for meals…one cannot say enough about this charming little hotel! The owners, Darrin & Cheri Jones, and the hotel manager, Carmen, took great care in making sure our visit was meaningful and relaxing. Darrin arranged outings to a local lariat / riata craftsman and a mesquite furniture craftsman. Another stop was made at a local bacanora distillery. Thank you all for a wonderful visit… We’ll be back!!

Small hotel in Mexico country side, if you're visiting vale del río sonora, this is the place to stay.
Staff is lovely, rooms are clean and with a really nice rustic touch, owners are amazing and if they're around on the night time, always a good chat on the dinner table.
Ask for the spicy vanilla flan, you won't regret it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice rooms, good restaurant although they don't keep regular hours. Do be patient and they will eventually bring you a great meal. Whatever you do, dont go to the pizza/burger place behind the hotel. Horrid. Everyone at the hotel was smiling, friendly and helpful. Beds were above Mexico hotel standards. $15 less would have been 5 stars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here with a group of friends and we simply loved the hotel. The photos do not do it justice! The rooms are beautiful and immaculately clean. Every room is different and every wall has fascinating art pieces from the owner's travels around the world. There is a beautiful roof top balcony to sit and watch the sunset and enjoy a drink. The restaurant offers superb home cooked food and incredibly low prices. The staff are helpful and friendly and clearly take pride in their work. We left for a night camping and then returned and the staff immediately brought out everything we had forgotten - pillows, hairbrushes, clothing, to try and ensure it was reunited to its owner. In addition, the location is perfect, right by a beautiful park in the center of town, but far enough away from the main road to be very quiet and peaceful. The security is excellent and all eight of us females felt well cared for at all times. I can't wait to stay again with my family next time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a boutique hotel you absolutely have to visit. The rooms are amazing, each one with it's unique charm. Our host really made us feel at home. The restaurant has really good food and the morning coffee is just great. Plan ahead since there is limited availability but don't miss spending a night at this place.
