★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very beautiful beach to watch sunset and chill. Was one of my fav spots.
But they over develop this now it's becoming less of a a surfer/chill spot and more mass tourism with partiers. Prices gone up a lot. Its charm hidden by aggressive development.
Everything else reviewers say about aggressive local surfer etiquette is also true...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the place to be if you’re in Escondido. Everybody comes here for the great beach, great seats, great vibes, great sunsets. It feels like it’s only a few steps away from a music festival vibe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very beautiful beach that has been destroyed by mass tourism and surf schools.
The point break is consistent but when there’s 30+ people all trying to catch a wave from the exact same spot, it’s impossible. The surf schools have very destructive surf etiquette, with many instructors pushing students who have no idea what they’re doing across you. They make it very dangerous.
There are no local people here as they have all been driven out by the party tourists and soaring prices.
I can only recommend coming here to watch the sunset.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zicatela is a very laid-back beach in Puerto Escondido. It's rustic and does not have a lot going on. If you're looking for an escape from life and to get away from it all, La Punta is the place for you. It's also the perfect beach to pick up surfing. The waves are small enough for beginners, and not far from there, they're much more prominent and well suited for someone who knows how to surf.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lively beach front with more than enough bars and restaurants around. Very popular place to see the sunset. Don’t miss it.
The beach beds are very expensive (between 500-1000 pesos during the high season) so if you can bring your own it’s advisable.
The beach is not necessarily family friendly.
