The accommodations are fabulous, the pool was always crystal clean, the beach chairs and sand is clean and well manicured. Access to the ocean is rocky but the snorkeling is really good.

Nice rental in number 8. Ocean is Rocky snorkeling was pretty good. Doesn't seem to get as effected by sargassum as other locations on half Moon Bay. Makes for a nice environment. Gardens are excellent and pool is fantastic.

Our Akumal Mexico trip was absolutely amazing, and doubly so because of the assistance and care from Diana Harris. The actual stay at La Sirena Condominios took place in mid-September, but my planning started back in April. I was nervous taking our small children out of the country for the first time, as it is one thing to make a mistake in one's own country and intimidating to make it in another. Diana was able to reassure me well beforehand about the security of the little town and the friendliness of the people there. I"m pretty sure I spoke with Diana at least once a month, and then once a week as it got closer to time. She was so very patient and thorough with every detail, even adding in helpful tidbits of the best fresh-squeezed orange juice in town! I did not once feel rushed or foolish for my questions and I'm sure she already was dealing with several inquiries on the surrounding condos on the property. Diana took the time to answer every single question, going above and beyond to make my family and me as comfortable as possible. She was able to arrange transportation, suggest day trips, and recommend reef-friendly sunscreen. She was able to make our stay that much more enjoyable because we came equipped with her knowledge of the town and the bay and all the necessities of comfort for our visit. Our condo, Azul Cielo, was just breathtaking. The pool for the property was under construction at the time, but in no way did it take away from the beauty of the buildings and the bay. It's three flights up to the Azul Cielo, but well worth the climb. The views were amazing from two balconies. We ate our breakfast and lunch at the condo, but walked to the nearby restaurants every night for dinner (five minutes to La Lunita, ten minutes to La Buena Vida, twenty to La Cueva El Pescador). The staff was friendly and professional. Coming back from dinner every night, we said hello to the security guard that stood guard in the outside atrium. It made me feel better knowing he was there. The maid came every day and kept our quarters spotless. Our favorite staff member though was the property manager, Francesca. She was warm and welcoming upon meeting and she was able to clear up the small issues we had on arrival (WiFi passwords and trouble shooting the water pressure - which was fixed instantly). She is very kind and even came to our need quickly when our 10-year old daughter had an encounter with a sea urchin (ouch!). Francesca was knowledgeable about the sting and kept us all calm and gave us a good remedy for easing the pain. My kids loved her and even drew her pictures when we departed. The bay is beautiful and full of sea life. We weren't lucky enough to see the sea turtles there, so we tried our hand at the Akumal Dive Shop and was able to swim with them at the beach. To enter Half Moon Bay, you must have reef shoes with a thicker bottom, unless you're bringing out your fins. At that, you'll need to brave the rocky outcropping with swim socks and then slip the fins on once it gets sandier and you're in between the coral. We brought our own snorkeling gear and life jackets, which was a source of comfort for me, knowing my kids would have that as a safety option. We had our heads down most of the time, exploring the reefs and the fish, that it was easy to go deeper out into the ocean unintentionally. The fins were good to propel us back and the jackets made it super easy to float above the coral. We visited the Cenotes near Tulum and Akumal, making a couple of days worth of excursion. It was my absolute favorite thing to do. They were glorious and the history behind them was fascinating. My favorite place to explore though was just a 2-minute walk away - Yal-Ku Lagoon. There is an admission fee, good for an all-day pass. We left at lunchtime when it got a little crowded and then came back around 2:30. We had the place to ourselves! Yal-Ku was full of beautiful and colorful fish.

Stayed for 5 nights in number 18. The condo units are either in one of four free-standing, two story villas that surround the pool, or one of 12 condo units in a three story block that overlooks the beach and Sea. The villas are 3 bedroom, the condos are 2, and I have no information on those except the first floor units do not seem to offer much visual privacy, although we were never on the beach section with more than 3 other people. These 4 bottom units in the condo block offer direct access to the beach area. The beach is elevated above the high tide area, and so it is Private Property from there to the street. Had security guard on site, but this did not feel necessary, as the interior of the complex is very quiet. This complex is ideal if your vacation objective is to have a base to explore the area, snorkel, and have a quiet retreat at the end of the day to relax. That is why we were there, so we loved it. The unit is 3 minute walking distance to the Yal-Ku Lagoon. La Sirena is on the rocky end of Half Moon Bay, so it has good but shallow snorkeling directly in front. Time it with High tide to enter here on the rocks. Watch out for urchins under the rocks here, and the snorkeling is excellent. Walk down (West) to the section of beach where the sand goes down into the water to have access at lower tides, swim straight out into the bay. 3/4 distance to the reef break there is a spectacular garden to swim around. I was alone that time so I did not go deeper, but it looked very interesting past the garden, and I started to see better schools there. Turtles in this area too. Unit details in HomeAway review

OUTSTANDING is too poor of a word, PAMPERED, SPOILED & INFORMED would need to be included! Over the top beautiful inside & out! The art was mesmerizing, in every single corner and nook original art was placed.

You can get rooms directly facing the ocean. VERY important bonus here: the massive amounts of sargasso pile up further away from this location. You don't get hit with the stench of rotting seaweed. Super worth it
