La Toscana Oaxaca - 68080 Oaxaca de Juárez

My fist time here , it was ok, however my last vist I was disappointed with service , the beer was warm and the quality food was unplacent. Also the waiter denied me several dishes on the menu. Definitely I don't recommend

Went there in hopes of pulpo (seen in the photos), but there was none. Had the ensalada Toscano (it was big , but few frutas rojas to be found and the "feta" was mushy and not very good). The recommended tuna en salsas negras was pretty good. Good quality tuna, but sitting in too much sauce which was mostly soy sauce. The garnish thinly fried pieces of garlic and frizzled onion were yummy. The glass of wine was from a bottle that had been open too long. When the waiter asked, I told him it was old (it had soured), but he said it was only opened the day before. I drank only two sips and left it. There was no offer to provide an alternative nor drop the 90p. charge. The pretentious pouring of olive oil (of mediocre quality) onto a small plate was lost on me. I love olive oil, but the bread basket did not have a bread suitable for dipping! A long thin hard breadstick and 3 little airy rolls. The roll I tried had soft cheese inside and turned to crumbs and mush when dipped. And the balsamic vinegar in the center of the oil was totally unnecessary and jarring. Overall, a pricy, barely satisfactory meal though the tuna would have been excellent if there hadn't been so much heavy soy overpowering it. Given the prices, quality and pretension (and a waiter who was inconsistent),-- no need for me to go back. Luckily, I've had several excellent meals since then at other places.

La Toscana is beautiful and the food excellent. The mezcal is quite overpriced. Service was lacking some what. Still I recommend at least one visit.

We have dined at this lovely place a number of times during our one month stay in Oaxaca. The excellent food, attentive service, and atmosphere make this an excellent choice if you are living in or near Jalatlaco. Our favorites include the shrimp tacos whose shell is made of jicama, and ALL the salads are divine. Don't miss the avocado topped with arugula, sprinkled with pistachios. Highly recommended.

What an exceptional discovery. The hotel where I am staying at - City Centro Oaxaca- recommended me this place. The place is super cute, big and yet intimate and cozy. I had a couple of whiskey drinks, tuna tostadas and a steak. Everything for $42. Extremely flavorful. I will be back

My wife and I have enjoyed the food at La Toscana for many years and are glad to see that they are once again serving delicious meals after a closure and relocation in the same neighborhood. We have one disappointment to report, though. When we first frequented La Toscana there was live classical music. Over the years this was replaced by loud music videos and, now, in their new home by extremely loud club music. I'm not sure whose eating experience this enhances, certainly not ours.

I’ve tried a Lot of pizza and this is by far the best in the barrio and the best in the Centro! (I didn’t go farther than Reforma). They have pepper flakes!!! Highly highly recommended! The staff was kind, helpful an just the right amount of attentive! Also, the building and area is super beautiful!!!

The place is absolutely nice and delicious. The staff always able to help you and bring everything you ask. Menu is very complete, they offer pasta, pizza, salat and meat. Don't forget to ask of dessert... Restaurant is located in a safe and iconic neigborhood of Oaxaca (Jalatlaco) Visit La Toscana, you wont regret it.
