Es imposible comprender el devenir histórico de la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí si no se toma en cuenta que ha sido una institución profundamente ligada a la sociedad a partir de la cual surgió, por ello, es indispensable valorar su pasado teniendo en mente que los cambios y procesos que ha vivido están relacionados estrechamente con los de dicha sociedad.
El espíritu universitario ha sido siempre alimentado por la libertad de cátedra, la difusión de la cultura y el desarrollo de investigación. Su comunidad, integrada por estudiantes, trabajadores y funcionarios ha luchado constantemente por ello, manteniendo siempre vigente la razón de su autonomía.
La universidad actual es producto de todas aquellas generaciones de alumnos y maestros, de directivos y trabajadores, que comprendieron que el sistema universitario era el camino para la generación de los cambios que se necesitan. Los vestigios de un pasado plagado de trabajo arduo, y una lucha por la continuidad educativa y científica, dan testimonio de una herencia que la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí asume con reconocimiento, y a la vez consciente de la responsabilidad y compromiso que ello implica.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un lugar realmente digno de visitarse, se puede pasar horas y horas apreciando cada una de las especies que éste Jardín alberga y protege. Como dato importante: San Luis Potosí tiene el desierto con más especies de cactus en todo México. El lugar está ordenado en distintos recorridos pero cada quien puede tomar el camino que desee. Poseen algunas especies disponibles a la venta. Me hubiera gustado que cada especie estuviera etiquetada con su nombre. (Como recomendación: Yo utilicé Google Lens para identificar cada especie de mi interés) El recorrido está acompañado de varias piezas escultóricas las cuales desconozco su autoría. Cuentan con sanitarios. ¡Muy recomendado para visitar! ¡Recomiendo lleven gorra y protector solar!
A place really worth visiting, you can spend hours and hours appreciating each of the species that this Garden houses and protects. As an important fact: San Luis Potosí has the desert with the most species of cacti in all of Mexico. The place is arranged in different routes but everyone can take the path they want. They have some species available for sale. I wish each species was labeled with its name. (As a recommendation: I used Google Lens to identify each species of interest to me) The tour is accompanied by several sculptural pieces whose authorship I do not know. They have restrooms. Highly recommended to visit! I recommend wearing a hat and sunscreen!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful garden full of cactuses and succulents inside Parque Tangamanga! I can't wait to go back and walk through again. There are many different varieties to view, and there were many for sale as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is closed on the weekends, and it is probably closed on Monday because the entire park closes at 11am every Monday.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This botanical garden is charming and reflects the local landscape. It contains many types of cactus, succulents and other desert plants including a few shade trees. The stonework walls and paths are beautifully designed and expertly built. There are many butterflies, bees and birds. To get there from the city center, we took Uber - its about 20 to 25 minutes by car. Best to go in the morning or else bring a hat or umbrella.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very unique wonderful large garden comprising mostly of many types of cacti. It was free and also has public washrooms. It's a nice place to take a slow long walk and see all the interesting desert like gardens.
