★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Su nombre original es Chimaliapan. Hace 100 años en tiempos de lluvia se unía a las lagunas de Chignahuapan y Chiconahuapan. Actualmente es el mayor de los 3 cuerpos de agua del valle de Toluca. En sus márgenes se han asentado pueblos prehispánicos como San Mateo Atenco y San Pedro Tlaltizapán. En tiempos de lluvia, ofrece una panorámica impresionante desde la Autopista Lerma Tenango.
Its original name is Chimaliapan. 100 years ago in times of rain it joined the Chignahuapan and Chiconahuapan lagoons. It is currently the largest of the 3 bodies of water in the Toluca Valley. Pre-Hispanic towns such as San Mateo Atenco and San Pedro Tlaltizapán have settled on its margins. In times of rain, it offers an impressive panoramic view from the Lerma Tenango Highway.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si se va a pie las indicaciones de Google son de mucha ayuda, pero hay dos caminos paralelos. Por uno se llega a una parte de la laguna, pero no se pude pasar a otra parte de la laguna y viceversa. Para visitar ambos lados el camino no es de fácil acceso a pie, pues hay que subir al puente de Lerma y es peligroso atravesar entre los autos. El lugar está hermoso.
If you go on foot, the Google indications are very helpful, but there are two parallel paths. For one you get to a part of the lagoon, but you cannot go to another part of the lagoon and vice versa. To visit both sides, the road is not easily accessible on foot, as you have to climb the Lerma bridge and it is dangerous to cross between the cars. The place is beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Muy bonito lugar, aunque esta a un lado.del.rio.lerma,el agua no está contaminada, hay mucha diversidad biológica, agua cristalina y puedes llegar en bicicleta sin problema. Mucha gente trotando y en bicicleta,al parecer es un lugar seguro.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es un lugar muy bonito, amplio y un tanto escondido, sobre todo parece que van lugareños y a veces pasa un largo tiempo sin que te encuentres a nadie. Lamentablemente hay algo de basura y parece que no se le da mantenimiento al lugar, a pesar de ello los juncos y otras plantas que rodean la zona sirven de filtro natural y protegen la laguna y a su fauna.
It is a very beautiful, spacious and somewhat hidden place, especially it seems that locals go and sometimes a long time passes without you meeting anyone. Unfortunately there is some garbage and it seems that the place is not maintained, despite this the reeds and other plants that surround the area serve as a natural filter and protect the lagoon and its fauna.
