A la Laguna le falta muchisimo cuidado y limpieza no recomendaría bañarse en ella. La vegetación es bellísima y puedes practicar senderismo mientras escuchas y tal vez mires la fauna de la zona. A un costado se encuentra la iglesia principal de Chuiná, y cada año se celebra la Feria en honor a la Virgen. Desafortunadamente, mucha gente ingiere bebidas alcohólicas cerca del lago y cada año hay al menos un deceso por ahogamiento. Además que la gente acostumbra a dejar ofrendas alado de la iglesia (prendas, libretas, juguetes, veladoras, etc.) y queda muy sucio el lugar. Ojalá mejoraran la imagen de la iglesia y el lago. Si te gustan las aventuras en ambientes rurales, te va a encantar visitar esta comunidad, porque tienes que dormir en una especie de palapas donde compartes el espacio con muchísima gente de diversos lugares. Además puedes conocer las historias sobre los milagros de la virgen y cómo muchos niños dicen haberla visto en la laguna o en el cerro que está junto a la iglesia. La tradición dice que el agua de la laguna es milagrosa, y mucha gente se baña en ella. Además, en las calles de la población se pone una feria donde puedes conseguir muchas cosas baratas como ropa, zapatos, artículos del hogar, y por supuesto degustar manjares regionales, como panuchos y salbutes, a precios económicos. Hay camionetas que funcionan como transporte público por si quieres ir a Champotón y a Escárcega, pero no estoy segura. Mi recomendación es estar ahí un día y pasar la noche para disfrutar la experiencia completa. No es un lugar muy grande, pero se disfruta. Si vas a Chuiná te recomiendo no dejar basura, consumir productos locales y llegar con la mente abierta para que disfrutes la experiencia.
