★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El espacio que ocupa el parque La Lagunilla, en la colonia 21 de Marzo de Xalapa, alguna vez fue una ciénaga. El nombre se debe a que en temporada de lluvias se inundaba, formando una laguna donde proliferaban los lirios; por décadas permaneció en esas condiciones. Durante la administración municipal de Manuel Fernández Ávila (1986-88) comenzaron a construirse kioskos en Xalapa y la Lagunilla fue parte de aquel proyecto. En 1997 se inició la rehabilitación del parque con la supervisión de don Tomás Méndez Lara, con buenos resultados, dejando los corredores y bancas que conocemos actualmente.
El parque La Lagunilla recibió los beneficios del programa “Hábitat”, el cual tenía la finalidad de hacer obra pública con recursos federales y municipales y con ello rehabilitar parques en lugares que tuviesen condiciones de marginación. La Lagunilla es un espacio cuidado, mas no su calle Cirilo Celis Pastrana, que se encuentra en condiciones precarias, y en temporada de lluvias son verdaderos lodazales.
The space that La Lagunilla Park occupies, in the 21 de Marzo neighborhood of Xalapa, was once a swamp. The name is due to the fact that in the rainy season it flooded, forming a lagoon where lilies proliferated; for decades it remained in these conditions. During the municipal administration of Manuel Fernández Ávila (1986-88) kiosks began to be built in Xalapa and La Lagunilla was part of that project. In 1997 the rehabilitation of the park began with the supervision of Mr. Tomás Méndez Lara, with good results, leaving the corridors and benches that we know today.
La Lagunilla Park received the benefits of the “Habitat” program, which had the purpose of carrying out public works with federal and municipal resources and thereby rehabilitating parks in places that had marginalized conditions. La Lagunilla is a neat space, but not its Cirilo Celis Pastrana street, which is in precarious conditions, and in the rainy season they are true quagmire.

No recomendable en la tarde noche ya que no hay mucho alumbrado público.
Quiet park during the day, good for children.
Not recommended in the late evening as there is not much public lighting.
