★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Las Coloradans is a big disappointment! To begin with, it is not a lake but a man made, constructed basin. The color pink is hard to see, the photos you find on the internet have all been edited. In addition, you are obliged to book a Spanish-speaking guide at the entrance fee of 300,- per person, otherwise you will not enter the industrial area. Because it is an industrial area. Our advice, save yourself a disappointment and focus on the beautiful nature in Rio Lagartos

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small town in no where and they want ~300$ for letting walk arround pink basin and watching flamingo from far far away... better go to Rio Lagarto and take nice boat trip for 200$/person to watch flamingos, if lucky crocodiles in mangroves with pelicans and other birds

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you (or your wife ?) want to see flamengos? or pink lake it’s nice and more authentic then in ZOO that’s for sure. We’ve been there in march and see like 2-3 groups of around 70-100 flamengos. If you come in may there will be like 2000-3000 of them!
But the price is unethical for that I could said because you can see the “famous” pink lake (if your are lucky because the colour depend on rain, sun and also wind) and you pay around 15€ for that or you will pay 25€ and you can go to see flamengos but NO pink lake because that’s extra. In 25€ tour you see flamengos, orange lake (not worth it), try some lake mug and stand in small lake with tinny fish which is eating your skin??♂️ (nothing amazing).
And you must count that you need to take 2 hours just to got there from Valladolit for example because it’s not on there way to anywhere.
If you come in may and seen thousands of then it must be worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were doubtful at first place but thank god we went, totally worth it!
As it is starting to become more touristic, so go before there are big crowds!
Go to Cocina Economica Doña Tati "restaurant" afterwards if you want good food straight from the fisherman's themselves with really good prices!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a large salt mine with water on it. Salt makes the water look pink, but you are charged a lot in both time to get there (3hrs+ each way from most places you'd start) and 300M$ per person to walk down a fairly industrial strip of land. Yucatan has a lot to offer, this isn't it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place to look at pink basin where they take the salt to sell it. It seem like a tourist trap to pay for the activity, but we didn't pay for it, so we don't know, maybe you can see more, but for us we just took a picture on the van ? cause we don't really like to be stoke with other tourists. You can also rent a bike and go around or take a tour which also take you to the flamingos, but you can also go there with your car (which we didn't pay neither).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really unique day trip if you’re looking for something different. You can do a self-guided tour and walk to the different lakes for 300 pesos per person, along with different tour/excursion options. For 600 pesos (per car), they took us on a tour of the lakes to see the ? and do a clay mid bath. The guides were great and we ended up with a bunch of pictures that they took for us. Definitely recommend.
