Layla's Restaurant - 48350 Puerto Vallarta

4.5/5 based on 8 reviews

Hidden gem! Intimate dining experience and top notch service just steps from the beach! Each item had fantastic presentation and even better flavour. Original hand crafted cocktails served. This restaurant is small with several levels. The tables closest to the end of the restaurant have sunset views. Prices are reasonable for this fine dining experience!

First let me say that my husband and i have been to Layla’s many times and had a great experience. So i suggested to my friend that we go there for an early New Year’s Eve dinner. My friend needs gluten free to avoid getting sick. In a phone call ahead of time I was told this is not a problem. The waiter did not seem to be concerned or understand this even after my friend showed him something written in Spanish explaining this. She ordered soup - it came with tortilla chips in it which was not mentioned on the menu. When we made the comment that she could not eat this - he responded- well you ordered it. She ordered sea bass for her entree. I ordered filet. After waited a while to get our food, hers is very under cooked and tough. She sent it back after showing that she could not cut it with the knife. He brings back another and it’s the same. The third time she was able to cut it with a fork so it was good. My filet was on the tough side. I don’t order beef often and until a few years ago would never order it down here but I found that better restaurants have started to have tender beef. Not the case here - though I did not return it. We arrived at 5:45 and we’re not done until after 8:00 and we ordered our food pretty quickly after arriving as we hungry. We were their first customers after they opened so they were not busy. Though previous experiences were good here, Layla’s is off my list of places to go. Too many other good places

Food and service are top notch. Felt like I was in a 5 star french restaurant. They even brought a few free appetizers and a sorbet to cleanse the palate. One small thing I must point out. The online menu was way outdated in selection and the prices were quite high compared to what we had anticipated from checking the website before going.

An unexpected treat off the beaten path with an innovative array of Mexican and Arab-inspired dishes. The basics like fajitas are seasoned nicely and presented beautifully. And the guacamole was served with the freshest chips we've tasted in two weeks of dining out in Puerto Vallarta. I opted for the lamb and chicken kebabs which were tender and luscious, and served with the expected trimmings including subtly seasoned almond rice. Definitely worth seeking out this place. If available opt for the upstairs seating for the full experience.

Great location, food was awesome and the staff is super friendly. Plus you can't go wrong with mimosas and frittatas.

Very yummy food and a nice atmosphere! Their rooftop seating is very nice and there is a fishtank with lots of types of fish in it, which was nice to look at. Also the prices are very good for the portion size. My only slight issue was that we waited for a long time for my food (1 hour), but I ordered a MASSIVE lamb shank so I'm not surprised it took a while ?. Very lovely staff also so all round I would recommend!!

Came wandering through town looking for coffee and breakfast on a Sunday morning. We stumbled upon Layla’s and were very happy! Enjoyed their coffee and Rancherito’s, along with their chipotle and green salsas. So yummy!

The food at this restaurant is very tasty and better than advertised - what a great experience and I'm glad I went. I ordered the sticky spare ribs (which were huge, 3 in total), some wine and shrimp with Arabic rice. The service was great and there was even live music from a gentleman who was singing and playing the guitar. His voice was perfect for the atmosphere. You can choose from 3 levels to sit, choose the top for the view. Highly recommend this place!! The images of menus online are older as some items are no longer listed but most everything is delicious to be honest ?
