Excellent instructors, personalized course of study. Two weeks of intensive instruction emphasizing spoken Spanish skills. Adelita arranged my housing and airport transportation, as well as occasional weekend and evening activities.

I studied at Adelita for 3 weeks and it was a great experience. My teachers were knowledgeable and pleasant. The school offers a flexible schedule which is great if you have other commitments while visiting Guanajuato.

I recommend this school for everyone, whether you an absolute beginner or advanced learner. One of the many good things about this school is they are extremely flexible. I read lots of reviews on various language schools in Guanajuato and this school stood out. The tuition is the most reasonable, and the teachers are so competent yet extremely considerate to your needs, and they ask for your feedback. I have been to some schools where teachers were there just to make money, but here, I can feel their passion of teaching, which is extremely important.

I had a terrific experience at Colegio Adelita, and highly recommend the program. I had only one week available to attend the school, but could have very happily extended my studies much longer. I am a complete beginner, and took two hours of private classes and one group class (only 2-3 students in the group) each morning. Both of my teachers, Gaby and Annie, were excellent. Classes started on time, and the lessons were clear and engaging. Las maestras were energetic, fun, and very supportive of my first foray into the language. I hope to return soon. This is a small program that creates a welcoming environment. During the morning break between classes, the teachers, staff and students mix casually on the school’s deck overlooking the hills surrounding Guanajuato. The school’s director, Rolando, promptly responded to all my initial e-mail inquiries, and arranged my transportation to Guanajuato from the Leon airport. Fernando, the school’s main administrator, leads a walking tour of the main sights of the city for newcomers every Monday afternoon. Don’t be concerned (as I was) that the school is slightly outside the city center; I stayed in a hotel near the Plaza de La Paz and thoroughly enjoyed my 20-minute walk to school each morning through the beautiful streets of Guanajuato and the nearby Mercado Embajadoras.

A small group of us attended La Adelita School in Guanajuato in the Spring of 2017. We found the instructors to be top notch and each very skilled in their work. The order of information, materials and format were well planned and effective. This school is in a convenient location and well-managed. The weekly social events and additional opportunities are additional value added to this experience. Worth the time, worth the money.

My family of four (with two boys 8 and 10) attended classes at Adelita for two weeks in January of 2018. I had looked at various schools and was impressed with the prices and the quick responses by Adelita staff. We attended 3 hours a day and were very happy with the experience. I was able to advise the teachers of my interests and that is exactly what I worked on. From what I understand, this time of year is slower than usual, so my classes were either private or semi private. The teachers went out of their way with my boys keeping them entertained and learning a little bit of Spanish along the way. I have attended language schools in Guatemala and Ecuador and loved them. I wanted to use Adelita as a place to learn Spanish, meet interesting teachers, and have a small community while there. They did it all. I highly recommend them to anyone considering learning Spanish. I have no doubt that they and their teachers would provide you with what you needed: conversation, grammar at any level, etc.

My wife and I attended Adelita for 3 weeks in February. The initial communications with the school were excellent and they arranged a personalised schedule for us to meet our needs (Beginners level, 3 hours per day, 3 days per week). The teachers and staff were all very friendly and we enjoyed the weekly pizza and beers catch up with staff and students on Friday evenings. The facilities were clean and comfortable. We had a few different teachers and they were all competent and enthusiastic (and most importantly, patient). We would definitely return to Adelita if we’re ever in Guanajuato again.

I recommend Adelita for online and in-person Spanish language classes. I really liked my teachers and the staff. I not only learned a lot of Spanish but also had fun. Adelita is flexible so that the instruction was relevant. They will build a curriculum based on your time, level, and objectives. I took private online classes, once a week from July - October 2021 to prepare for a six-week trip to Mexico. I had never studied Spanish. My teacher Nora was encouraging and patient, while challenging me to learn as much as I could. She adapted the level and amount of homework to the time I had available. I learned foundational vocabulary, grammar and verbs that set me up well for the intensity of in-person classes in Guanajuato. I’m really glad I started online classes before I arrived. When I arrived in Guanajuato in November 2021, I studied with Elena for three weeks -- 5 days a week, three hours a day. Classes were a mix of conversation and grammar based on my objectives. The facilities are well equipped and comfortable. Class was mostly held on a sunny outdoor terrace with tables and a whiteboard. There is an indoor space, but we only needed it for a day of bad weather. When another student came, we had a group class. When he left, I had private class. Due to COVID, there still are not a lot of in-person students. I really appreciated Elena's enthusiasm and flexibility. She taught a traditional language curriculum, but she modified it based on vocabulary I needed to live in Guanajuato. For example, we worked on location directions, how to buy bus tickets, and even how to ask for the haircut and color I wanted. I was surprised that we didn’t use workbooks or other formal instructional materials. Both my teachers gave me handouts as needed, but I am used to having some sort of print or digital book when I take classes. It didn’t impact my learning, but I thought I’d mention it. The owner Rolando is very responsive and flexible when enrolling. The office manager Montse was so helpful and kind. She gave me an informative tour of Centro on my first week so that I could orient myself and be savvy about navigating a new city. I felt like beyond being a language school, Adelita provided advice and support for living in Guanajuato. I learned a lot. Knowing some Spanish definitely helped me travel in Mexico, and I am inspired to continue my studies once I get home to the United States. Here’s one last tip for studying with a teacher for a short period like I did. It helps your teacher to communicate your learning style and what you want to learn. For example, I am really interested in music and movies, so both Nora and Elena incorporated Spanish-language songs and short videos into the classes. Thank you, Adelita.
