★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a total nightmare encounter with Europcar, we headed to Leon. The people there are really friendly and try very hard to get you the best deal. The car was really nice and clean, everything was ok and simple. They even let us choose the car. It's run by locals, not big corporations, it's very humane and you can call them whenever you want.

They were very responsive and incredibly flexible and met our every request. And on top of it all they provided the best price AND the most complete insurance coverage of any agency I looked into. I see no reason to rent with any other agency besides them.

Perfect experience, I highly recommend renting from that company. We had been in need of a car spontaneous after issues with another car rental company and they were able to give us a car without prior booking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Leon Car Rental was a great alternative to the big car companies. It is a local business and is not as fancy as the big guys, but they were very friendly and helpful. One of the benefits was that anyone in the group could drive the car. We got a flat tire, but because we changed it ourselves, they didn't charge us for the tire repair. The best part was that the price was considerably lower than the other companies. One thing, I speak Spanish, so I didn't have any problems communicating with the staff. I don't know if they speak English.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve rented cars in many cities around the world and this has been, by far, the most pleasant experience I’ve had. Great service and attention at fair price, and NO hidden fees (which seems to be a rare thing nowadays). Avis quoted me $645 USD, Hertz quoted $600 USD, and Europcar quoted $660 USD, AND the reviews screamed nightmare after nightmare. I ended up paying approximately just under $280 USD at Leon Car Rental, for the same quote, and better vehicle. The gentleman there offered great communication, he picked us up from the airport, did all the paperwork, and handed me car himself. The building itself does not do the business justice, but once you get past that, these guys are great!

It's a family-run, transparent, economical and especially friendly and accommodating business, that rightfully ranks on Google as the highest rated carrental company in this area. The car we rented was in excellent conditions.
Highly recommendable for anyone who desires a surprise-free start to their stay in Yucatán!

His prices are a fraction of the big rental companies. I highly recommend using Leon Car Rental when renting a car in Merida. The personal service is amazing and you will be supporting a local business.
