LES AMIS BAGUETTERIE & BISTRO - 77720 Playa del Carmen

Went one morning while visiting Playa the food was good but unfortunately the service lacked that day which was surprising based on other reviews I read leading us here. We asked if they had lattes and were told yes but was given a coffee with a tray of various cold milks (the one vegan option was basically empty). The server came out with the fresh baguettes to show us and they smelled amazing and would for sure get that again. But unfortunately one of our three meals didn’t come out with the other two. After waiting some time we informed them we were still waiting on the third dish and by the time it came out we were basically finished ours. With the delayed dish they asked if we wanted Pico de Gallo (which it said it came with on the menu) while surprised that it was not with the dish we said yes. Then we waited another extended amount of time before having to ask the server again which they told us they had forgot and by the time it arrived the meal was cold. While we got the third meal they gave us the three complementary desserts that the sandwiches come with. It was a piece of cheese cake which we had to ask and were informed that they were not vegan. When two of us ordered full vegan meals it would have been nice to have an alternative or know in advance rather be given something that we would not eat. I was surprised to see a vegan sandwich accompanied with a non vegan dessert.

Words cannot describe what an amazing place this is. The owner is extremely nice, funny, and helpful. You can tell that he puts his heart fully into the business. The place is really tiny and cute with great atmosphere. We got sandwiches and freshly made juices. I do not remember when was the last time I had this kind of delicious food. It tasted just as good as it looked. It was a wonderful experience, if you are in the area it is a must try. You will not regret it.

What a nice place with a lovely person that runs that place. Definitely the best sandwich we had ever. Check that little restaurant out, and have nice food. The smoothies are awesome as well. Very fresh and tasty.

Great experience all around! The cold coffee serve by Tony is the best one in Playa del Carmen! Great attention, atmosphere, and very local vibes. Love the sandwich and pastries here. The owner is fun and friendly, the staff is great. Love this hidden gem!

Amazing place with such friendly snd helpful staff! I got the vegan molletes and the tropical juice. It’s a massive portion of juice and they ever ask you to try it to make sure you like it before they pour the whole thing. They also give a dessert after. Since I’m vegan they gave me a fruit cup!

The reviews are all true and Les Amis does not disappoint! Tony is super friendly and you can tell he really cares about his shop. He bakes all his own bread there. I got the antigripal smoothie and it’s sooo good and healthy. I love how he fills up the glass all the way and and it’s a huge portion ! It’s a create your own sandwich type of menu, love the variety of ingredients to choose from. Sandwich was delicious, and super fresh. It really satisfied my sandwich craving and I can’t wait to come back again. Tony even gives you a slice of his passion fruit cheesecake at the end for free, and it’s just the right balance of flavour, light and fluffy. The price is really reasonable, I expected to pay more for what I had. Really love the hospitality here, recommended to pay in cash!!

The BEST sandwiches!! The workers are friendly and welcoming. Delicious home-made bread and refreshing fruit juices. Pictured is omelette sandwich on Parmesan oregano bread. Highly recommend!! We stopped here on our first day when walking by, and came back each day after that. Perfect breakfast spot and to-go sandwiches to snack on throughout the day.

Great more traditional and customizable options. My husband LOVED the iced coffee here. They even gave us a slice of this cheesecake (?) for free to finish our meal. The owner was so happy and kind to all of the customers while we were there. The bread was just so so so good as well. MUST try in Playa.
