★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This bookstore, Librería La Ceiba, is fantastic by Mexican bookstore standards. Visiting here was a highpoint of my recent Tapachula adventure. The selection here isn't vast but there is a selection, and the types and genres available are varied. There's also some stationery here too. Here it's called papelería and other stuff. The front doors are absent during open hours, so going inside is relatively safer in terms of the coronavirus than if they were closed.
Juan Villoro, the Mexican, the Mexican, says the books you will read in life are waiting for you and will call out to you when they see you coming. He also talks of how in Mexico you must search around many bookstores here in Mexico before you find all that you're looking for. One book here called out to me, a fat one by Borjes, but I didn't have space for it. One day I'll go back and rejoin with it.
