El Liceo de La Lengua Espanola is located in the center of the beautiful city of San Miguel de Allende, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This is the perfect destination to discover the history and experience the culture of Mexico !
Mission
The Liceo is a language school engaged in the social and educational development of the city of San Miguel de Allende. Its mission is dedicated to the support of visitors studying Spanish by providing a rich, personalized learning environment, as well as to assist Mexicans in learning English, in order for them to attain interesting professional and academic opportunities.
Vision
In addition to assuring to all international students the opportunity to receive Spanish instruction based on quality, our institution promotes the social commitment of its staff and students in joining associations and helping underprivileged social groups.

It was a great place for my husband and I, who are new to the language, as well as my 15, 13, 11 and 9 year olds, who have more Spanish experience. They were able to provide classes for all of us. We enjoyed the outings as well as a special pinata class. Great teachers!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great experience taking classes with Miguel here. There was a lot of opportunity to speak the language we were learning. My Spanish is somewhere in the neighborhood of intermediate or advanced, and although I was only in San Miguel for two weeks and only in class for an hour a day, I came out with a solid understanding of the dreaded subjunctive, which I'd been taught before but never really felt like I could utilize when speaking until now. As a teacher myself, I know that I´m having that success because of the way Miguel presented the material and conducted the class. Really great central location, too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I haven't taken a class there since 2019, due to the pandemic. However for maybe the previous 5 years I went there for a few months at a time each year. I really learned a lot and am looking forward to returning. Most of those times Luis was my instructor, although I've had some classes with Miguel and several others.
Classes were small and enjoyable. I went 5 days a week for an hour a day and became fairly fluent.
The school was a big reason that I kept returning to San Miguel.
I'm glad to hear that it has re-opened. Looking forward to seeing my former teachers and also hope that Claudia is still working in the office.
