★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be prepared for change of weather. No one in the tour told us it would be foggy, cold, humid. We were not prepared with proper clothes after visiting El Chiflon waterfall which was sunny, hot, perfect for swimming. Really enjoyed the border and tried some delicious mexican food stall plate and hot, wood burnt cocoa.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting place. One of the few places where you can walk out of Mexico into an indian hut in Guatemala peddling handicrafts, beer, marijuana "snake oil", and some other exotic stuff. Walk freely between the two countries by the village side, where all the vendors set shop and see the little waterfall in the Guatemalan side. The local indians don't seem to be affected, or bothered by the non-controlled border and go back and forth as they please. You can see a man on the Mexico side drinking a Guatemalan beer and another one wearing a Mexican political campaign t-shirt on the Guatemalan side.
