Very far from the city but the view is well worth it. Can be cold on a winding day.

Great trout but they overcook.. I buy their nice big fat fresh raw trout to take home and cook them myself.

Food prep good, servers not with it. Had to ask for everything, like salt, napkins, etc. Not much of a serving attitude.

One of the many, and one of the first you encounter, Trout Restaurants in the montanas outside Oaxaca. This one has a great outside deck under construction. There weren't any outside tables, but you can wander around and take some great pictures. It was quite windy, and the enclosed dining room does not have a full wall at the base, so the wind was quite cold on our legs. The trout was excellent, and you know its fresh as you can watch them swimming in the many pools outside the restaurant. You can even feed them if you'd like. We ate early, about 11:30, and the place was almost empty. Service was a bit slower than expected, though we were in no hurry. We ordered a vase of pineapple agua along with our meals. It was quite thick, yum. We were served 3 tlayuda sized tortillas as a free app along with 2 salsas. Both tasty. One of the trout we were served was noticeably bigger than the other, we did not get a choice of size or pay a different price. As we were leaving about 1 PM the music from the inside bar was just getting cranked up. My dining companion advised that they often have loud music playing in the afternoon, so go early if you want to avoid it. There were only a few more tables in service at that time.

Beautiful scenery. Good chocolate and café olla. The service is not so good.

Wonderful view from this beautiful restaurant and trout farm on the side of the mountain. Nice people. Good food. Whole trout 160 pesos. Standard (non-trout) dishes from 45 pesos.

The garlic and oil trout was crispy and delicious. The view of the valley from the terrace is gorgeous. Outside of the restaurant, there are various pools of trout that are nice for kids and adults to look at.
