Don't get me wrong, hotels can be great. But with lodging options like Los Alcatraces available in Cozumel, the idea of staying in a hotel is almost silly, especially if you're planning an extended stay on the island. The property's gracious hosts (Silvia and Greg), convenient location, clean, modern rooms, and private pool access assure every guest of an enjoyable stay. And while some may feel that guest room beds are a bit firm for their personal tastes, the quiet, almost secluded feeling of the property means that guests will come away from their stay in a completely relaxed state. Simply put: Los Alcatraces is great. And as a regular visitor to the island, I think I've found a place I'll call home during all my return visits.

Had a really nice 10 day stay at the Los Alcatraces Cozumel hotel(?). There are only two rooms which are rented out so it is very cozy and personal. Dan and Cindy are amazing hosts giving us plenty of information as to where the best restaurants are and other super helpful tips. The location is amazing not in the busyness of the tourist area but still easy to walk to and very close to many local restaurants and shops. Highly recommended and will likely be back

Hi friends, I want to tell you about an amazing vacation Karen and I just had. Los Alcatraces on the island of Cozumel is owned by Dan and Cindy Hines. For a very very very modest amount, we stayed for 4 nights. We've been to Cozumel 3 times, but this was the first time we experience the true culture of the island and it was thanks to Dan and Cindy's recommendations. We stayed at Los Alcatraces over Christmas week. We had such a wonderful time. Cindy and Dan are very gracious hosts and they see to your every need. They are the best! Because there are only two units, you don't have to be concerned about a packed hotel. The room was clean and was stocked with shampoo, body wash, coffee, kitchen items, a basket of goodies and much more. They had a good choice of television for those nights you want to stay in. The palapa is a great place to sit and enjoy the outdoors with a cocktail in the evenings! Everything is within easy walking distance. There are several very good restaurants within a block of their property so you don't need a car. Be sure to take the time to go to Casa Mission for dinner. The food and service were amazing. And don't miss out on a Sexy Coffee to share. You won't regret staying with Cindy and Dan. Make a reservation now! We will definitely be back for another visit!

We had an awesome time and totally enjoyed having our own pool just a few steps from the room! If you truly want to experience Cozumel and visit the spots that most tourist don't get to see, then stay here. The owners are the best too, and will let you have your space or be your best buds. We ate, we relaxed, we went on adventures, we will be coming back...

We stayed at this lovely and quaint spot and Dan and Cindy are wonderful, kind hosts. The room was large and clean with plenty of storage space and the patio and pool were just steps from our door. Yummy local coffee is provided along with some basic essentials, like plates, salt and pepper, cups, cutlery and toiletries. Beach towels and a cooler are there for use, any time you wish to head out to the beach. We loved our stay here within easy walking distance of grocery stores and restaurants and the grounds are well maintained and safe with electronic security surrounding the property. There is an in unit safe for all of your valuables, that we really appreciated. Dan and Cindy were so gracious in helping us navigate places to go and restaurants to try, where to get groceries and what the best places to visit on the island are. We have made friends with these two generous and kind people and our stay at Los Alcatraces was a place that I would go back to in a heart beat and highly recommend.

I just spent the most amazing week in Cozumel at Los Alcatraces Cozumel! Dan and Cindy are excellent Superhosts, who live on the property. They are very knowledgeable about where to go for restaurants, stores, diving and beaches! The location is centrally located and within walking distance to grocery stores, shopping, tons of restaurants and near the Caribbean Sea! Being a single woman, I felt very safe! It's a secure, quiet and beautiful atmosphere with gorgeous garden and pool. The new outdoor kitchen works great! Everything you need is there, including, Fast, reliable wifi, refrigerator, TV, AC, hot water and comfortable beds. The other thing, that the other guests loved, was the large dive rinse tank and lots of clothes lines to dry your dive gear. I will definitely come back to Los Alcatraces Cozumel!
