Los Andantes Terraza - 68000 Oaxaca de Juárez

Fantastic locals place with yummy food and limited, but delicious, drink list. Hard to find but totally worth it for the view over Templo Santo Domingo and the surrounding plaza. From the set, up it looks like they occasionally have live music as well.

Nice place. Live music. Strong mezcal. Terrace rooftop and nice place for 2 or a group.

I would rate a zero if I could. I asked for a side of French fries, the waitress asked if I wanted anything on top (cheese, jalapeños, etc.) and I said no, nothing on top please. Just French fries for a snack. They brought out a platter of French fries to feed 5+ people. I was so shocked I said this is too big, and I asked for the price. $145 pesos for plain French fries I could only eat a small portion of. I asked if the price included all of those toppings or if it’s cheaper because I had no toppings. She said it was the same price either way. So I had a giant mediocre plate of French fries that went to waste and paid an extortionate fee for them. If you want to be ripped off, eat here. Calificaría un cero si pudiera. Pedí un lado de papas fritas, la mesera preguntó si quería algo encima (queso, jalapeños, etc.) y le dije que no, nada encima por favor. Solo papas fritas para un bocadillo. Sacaron una fuente de papas fritas para alimentar a más de 5 personas. Me sorprendió tanto que dije que era demasiado grande y le pregunté el precio. $ 145 pesos por papas fritas simples de las que solo pude comer una pequeña porción. Pregunté si el precio incluía todos esos ingredientes o si era más barato porque no tenía ingredientes. Ella dijo que era el mismo precio de cualquier manera. Así que tuve un plato mediocre gigante de papas fritas que se desperdició y pagué una tarifa exorbitante por ellas. Si quieres que te timen, come aquí.

Arrived as a solo traveler around 4 pm, did not appear busy, no reservations are required; the hostess who was also handing out toilet paper for the public bathroom, was very rude refusing to seat me for some unknown reasons, (not a local?). First suspected it was due to lack of available tables but then as other parties arrived, some couples, etc. She alowed at least several other parties to enter while I stood in the lobby without any explanation just glares and attitude by her. I read through previous reviews and see the hostess issue is a recurring issue. Ended up leaving for someplace else more welcoming.

The views at sunset are great. The staff, especially Rosa went above and beyond. Food was nothing to try again and way overpriced. Drinks weren't bad, but once again overpriced.

Come here for the view! This place is right in front of the church and you get a really good view. We got beer & a cocktail (the cocktail was ok) went for dinner elsewhere..
