Cuando se creó el primer eslabón en la ciudad de Culiacán, Sinaloa.

El nombre de Los Arcos es una ofrenda al acueducto construido en la parte oriente de la ciudad Culiacán desde el Siglo XIX, el cual era utilizado para irrigar los viejos cañaverales. Edificado con el clásico tabique de la región en forma de arcos; aún se puede admirar esta construcción ahora patrimonio de la ciudad.

Está orientado de tal manera que el centro del arco, apunta directamente a la puerta principal del templo . Para poder centrarlo le pidieron a la señora María de la Luz Machuca Calvo cediera un metro y medio de su propiedad, quién con mucho gusto lo cedió, ya que era muy devota del Santo Cristo. La dirección para la construcción del arco estuvo a cargo del mismo arquitecto que por aquellos años construía el seminario de la ciudad de Tehuacan Pue. El proyecto fue idea de un grupo de personas entusiastas y se dio a conocer al párroco del lugar, el presbítero Teodoro Carrillo Garzón, quién lo aprobó de acuerdo con el Sr. Obispo de la Diocesis de tehuacan, el Dr. Rafael Ayala y Ayala, mismo que fue invitado para poner la primera piedra y hacer la bendición del lugar. Se nombró un comité llamado: comité pro-construcción del arco de coculco, el cuál estuvo integrado por la siguiente manera: Presidente: Claudio Machuca Calvo Secretario: Rafael Cumo Tlaquiz Tesorera: María de la Luz Machuca Calvo Vocales: Arely Cruz, Sofía Avíla, Rosa Cumo Tlaquiz, Juana R. Nieto Montiel MercedesCumoHuesca, Manuel Tecua Mauro Amayo Miguel angel Vazquez Antonio Romero Meza Susana Martínez Oropeza Raymundo Oropeza Osvelia Cruz Rodriguez Para recaudar los fondos necesarios, se hacían bailes frente a la casa del presidente y les llamaban los bailes del huamúchil, se organizaban rifas de objetos varios, se repartieron tarjetas de cooperación y se hacían visitas a personas devotas del Sr. De Coculco en San Gabriel Chilac, Altepexi, etc. El primer albañil que inició la obra fue el Sr. Martín Amil y después continuó el Sr. Antonio Romero Meza.
