LOS BALCONES PUERTO MORELOS - 77580 Puerto Morelos

From the moment I met Bernardo waving from his rooftop I knew I was about to have a very lucky day. Desperate to find a room for my Aunt who was going to visit with us in Cancun; Bernardo and Ava came to the rescue. The rest after that was nothing but pleasure. They hosted my aunt with the highest level of respect, hospitality and generosity. Thank you so much for everything you done.

My brother, his girlfriend and I have stayed at Bernardo's condo unit #6 on a few occasions, it is a very nice and affordable condo - a great deal! It is conveniently located within walking distance from the urban portion of Puerto Morelos, it is merely a 10 minute 3 km bicycle ride to the beach portion of Puerto Morelos, or a 5 min. cheap cab ride. The neighborhood is safe. This location offers a more genuine and engaging mexican experience as you are away from the more touristy part of PM, there are plenty of nice restaurants and markets in the PM "zona urbana". The ADO bus station also happens to be right around the corner, a gateway to exploring other Yucatan peninsula locations. Highly recommended!

House is located in very quiet and calm neighborhood, great place to stay away from tourist crowds or noisy places. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly as well gave us great recommendations and bicycles, so the getting around the town and to the beach was very easy and fun. The place was very clean as well with nice backyard, pool and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

My partner and I stayed here for 10 days over the festive period. Bernado and Eva are very welcoming, and just great people. They give you loads of information to enjoy the area and have good advice for hiring a car. The apartment has everything you need, including very comfortable beds, and is in a quiet neighbourhood, but still with easy access to restaurants and a brilliant supermarket. There are bikes for you to use too, the cycle ride to the beach in Puerto Morelos is about 15 mins, great fun! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, it was fab!

I stayed here at the beginning of February and it was wonderful! I met up with my cousins who were staying in the upstairs unit and I had a private room on the ground floor with my little dog. Bernardo and Eva are fantastic hosts who are very thoughtful and sweet. Bikes were provided and we rode them to the beach every day and into town. We were close enough to walk to the town center as well and taxi service was easy for going to dinner near the beach. Wi-Fi was great. Pool was refreshing after being out and about. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and a great place to walk my dog and meet the neighbors. Everything was super convenient and we all had a relaxing vacation. This place is great to travel solo, as a couple, or a small group needing a few separate rooms. I can't wait to go back!

While I have 3 1/2 passports filled, this was my husband's first ever trip out of the US. So I was uber picky when looking at places to stay for his first experience!  We just returned from a 2 week stay at Los Balcones which is in a quiet neighborhood & gated community, and are already planning our return trip! Bernado and Eva are the most personable, humble & kind hosts I have ever met! You can sense their love for the area from the first minute you meet them!  They will give you tons of tips, hints & information to enjoy the area. I could go on and on about these lovely people and their beautiful property! Our 2nd floor studio apartment looked just like the images on the website - no filters on those photos! And as some previous posts stated, the bed was super comfy, great wi-fi (if you need it) and the pool was wonderful to dip in to cool off on the warmer afternoons. They have bikes available for you to use, which we did a few times. Most of the time, we would walk to the grocery store or restaurants in the centro area (it's approx. a 5-7 min walk once you figure out which roads to use!) Can easily catch an ADO right there also. Walking to the beach was about a 20 min walk or you can catch a taxi at the 7-11 for 30 pesos. **Overall*** This is my third time staying with Eva. I stayed twice at their other property in Puerto Morelos ("Buenos Dias") and now at Los Balcones! I absolutely LOVE the host - Eva and love both of their guesthouses. ***Host*** Eva is a wonderful human being, manages her two guesthouses very well, and takes great care of her guests and staff! ***Location***: It is a 7 minute walk to a large grocery store (Chedraui) and bus stop for affordable and frequent colectivo buses that travel along the coast from Cancun to Playa Del Carmen to Tulum. It is also close to the frequent colectivo buses to the beach of Puerto Morelos (only 10 pesos each way) or a 30 minute walk to the beach. ***Guesthouse*** Los Balcones is a beautiful modern guesthouse with a pool in a luscious-green gated community in Puerto Morelos. The rooms and property itself are functional, comfortable, and beautiful. Good wifi. ***Another option*** If you are looking for a more affordable option with a more authentic Mexican decor and world-traveler community vibe, check out Eva's other guesthouse in Puerto Morelos called "Buenos Dias". I stayed there twice and feel like home there. I made several wonderful friends there with other fellow world travelers. ***Recommendation*** I wholeheartedly recommend Los Balcones and am looking forward to being back there or at Buenos Dias on my next trip to the Mayan coast.

I spent 3 months (mid Dec 2021 - mid Mar 2022) in the 2nd floor apt in Los Balcones, with my small dog. The building is in the quiet gated community of Puntarena, which is conveniently located 30 minute walk to the beach or 15 minute walk to La Colonia, where you can find the main grocery store Chedraui, many restaurants, the bus depot and colectivos. The apt is bright, spacious with a fully outfitted kitchen. There are 2 balconies, on both sides of the apt, and a rooftop deck for greater views of the mangroves, sunsets and sunrises. The bed and pillows are good quality and super comfy. There is plenty of storage for longer stays. The streets are well lit and safe for walks after dark with my dog. There is a good sized TV with some English channels, but Netflix is also available. The internet was good and reliable. I cannot say enough positive about Eva and Bernardo, as hosts. Eva was so full of helpful information and was always willing to help anyone at anytime. We became friends and they treated me like family over my 3 month stay. I certainly made the right decision staying at Los Balcones, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable, well located accommodation in Puerto Morelos. Also there is an abundance of wildlife right there in the gated community!
