Variedad y calidad. Ganador!
Variety and quality. You can buy mezcal in bottles or in bulk. They also have shipping service throughout the country. We loved the special: sweet and full-bodied. Winner!

Agile explanation of the mezcal production process. Tasting without limits. I recommend you go early Sunday very early why they sell the richest barbecue in the region !!!! The taxi from the center of Puerto Escondido charges 40 pesos and you will be there in 10 minutes. For a must if you visit that area of the Oaxaca coast.

If what you are looking for is a place where the mezcal manufacturing process and the difference between the different species are explained to you, this is not the place because here is only the factory and next to it is the store. Of course, the prices are not high, I took two bottles for $ 1000 of 750ml and 375 ml. The good thing is that you can try the different products to decide which one to take. To get there you can do it in a taxi or wait for the collective vans any of the options you decide are not expensive one way pay $ 100 for a taxi because it was up to the tip of carrizalillo but back pay $ 20 per person from the truck to Zicatela, you do have to wait about 15 min for the truck to pass.

1200 pesos for 3 x 375 bottles. I assume I was badly ripped off as a tourist. Not sure by how much, anywhere between 200% and 1000% . If you go there take a local with you

If you are driving by, it’s definitely a nice stop for 10 minutes but don’t make the drive from town. No English when I visited and not much to see. The prices for their mezcal were Significantly more expensive than other places carrying their product. I would pass.

People complain of being ripped off, or that the prices are higher than other places selling the same product but that is inaccurate. The cheapest mezcal, made from farmed espadin is 210 pesos for 750ml bottle. You can save 30 if you bring your own bottle. Liquor stores in town sell the same for 230. The have fancier mezcal made from tobala, cuishe, coyote and tepaxtate species of maguey(agave) which cost between 800-950 per 750 bottle. These species grow wild only and are a whole lot more work to collect, hence the higher price. They are delicious though. The coyote being my favorite. Prices are about the same, or slightly cheaper than other reputable mezcal makers around Oaxaca city, but it’s nice to get something local, and the value is far better than buying at the nearby Chedraui or shops along the attican. If you are hoping to have a tour of the facility with a helpful English speaking guide to teach the difference between plants and their tastes, this isn’t where to look, but if you want fair prices for excellent product, treat yourself to a nice bottle (you’d the same for a bottle of scotch after all).
