Los Girasoles - 77500 México

Perfect little hotel with a friendly staff. The location is good, in the city centre next to all the shops you need at fair price. It is the best way to avoid late Zona Hotelera and try Mexican Food. The shower wasn’t the best and we had to change of bedroom for that. If they keep their price 500-700 pesos, they are awesome !

Quiet are conditioned room, good service, accommodating and helpful staff, with a good price. Breakfast was really good! Great price too. Bottomless good drip coffee OR 1 nespresso pod. Water was not hot, sometimes got warm. Neighborhood walking to/from hotel often had 3rd world stench to it which was less than desirable.

Overall, we had an excellent stay. As stated in other reviews, this is not a brand-new hotel; however, that is part of the charm of the place. Our room was very clean, the wifi was fast, and we had plenty of hot water. We didn't use the television, so I can't comment there. From check-in to check-out the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast (additional cost) much more than the nearby Cafe Andrade, so I would just get breakfast from the hotel instead of trying to find another place to eat. They also offer reasonably-priced laundry service, which we used and were pleased with. The hotel is not too far from Mercado 28, La casa de la cultura, and the planetarium. We used the hotel as a jumping off point for day trips to Isla Mujeres and Chichen Itza, which I think worked out quite well. To get to the hotel, I would recommend getting the ADO shuttle from the airport to their downtown Cancun station, which costs about 5 USD. When you get to the bus station, do not get the taxis immediately outside the station, which cost about 4 times more than a local taxi. Instead, walk a couple of blocks and hail a taxi, or, if you want a little exercise, just spend 15 minutes walking to the hotel. If you are planning on renting a car, I would recommend going to Etytan car rental, which is about a five minute walk from the ADO station and a ten minute walk from Girasoles. The prices and reasonable, and we didn't experience any surprise charges or bait-and-switch tactics, like we did at the Cancun Airport car rental center. So if you want a nice, clean, charming downtown hotel, I would highly recommend Los Girasoles.

Los Girasoles is a place to feel yourself at home. The place is simple, confortable and the people that work there are very kind.

Price/quality is excellent, rooms are clean and breakfast is good (and super affordable). The staff really makes it 5 stars, super helpful and nice people. One of our plans fell through and they were immediately on the phone to arrange something for us!

Excellent hotel right near the centre yet very peaceful. Beautiful, clean rooms with comfortable beds and pillows, fridge, AC, fan, safe, hot water. Breakfast also available with nice restaurant area and outdoor seating. Very handy to have a cool water barrel. Thanks again Ricardo. Manuel and to all staff who always make my stay pleasurable.

We stayed here seven nights and it really felt like home. The room and facilities are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast is available at a very reasonable rate and prepared with care. We loved the outdoor patios, the comfortable lobby and the quiet neighbourhood, that is also within walking distance of the main plaza, many restaurants and stores, as well as the Market 28. You will not find a better deal in Cancun.
