This place took forever to take our order, give us menu, clean the table. After seating down for 45 minutes for two quesadillas, I saw people come in sat down and leave because waiter was so slow, and service was even slower. They had terrible management, they could have done better job and tell people to wait, move tables to accommodate clients. Don't bother, not worth the time.

An expensive tourist trap with terrible food. We thought we'd treat ourselves because it was busy and looked upmarket- what a mistake. The only good thing about it is the nice location right on the edge of the main square. We sat down to order food and drinks, when we went to place our order (2 people), they didn't have either of the 2 things we wanted - OK this happens. So we ordered our drinks and asked for a few more minutes to pick something else off the menu. No one came back to retake our order so we flagged someone down. 25-30 minutes later, 1 order turned up. Still no drinks. They forgot. They finally brought our drink order (1 Margarita, 1 can of beer). I was half way through my soup when my partners chicken fajita turned up. It was the most tasteless fajita we ever had, no seasoning at all. Nothing. Plain chicken, peppers and onions. No salt, no seasoning, no herbs - literally nothing. Packet mix fajitas from the supermarket are waaaay better - they have flavour. We had to ask for hot sauce to make it edible. Literally the worst food and worst service we've had in mexico - and the most expensive. Avoid.

Great location, amazing local food, nice drinks. Overall a great place. The service is slow, but if you take it as part of the local laid back experience you can enjoy that too.

We stumbled across this place being that it was open early for breakfast. They accommodated our party of 13 in their outside dining section. The wait staff was nice and very patient. All the meals were prepared fresh, being that the plates came out a few at a time, not all at once. The food was delicious and most of our party ended up ordering additional food, mostly extra quesadillas. There were also a couple of local ladies that walked by selling goods such as seeds, spices, shirts, dresses and headbands. They were very economically priced. Overall, we were very happy with our experience at Los Portales.

Nice place in a nice location, however overpriced and for some reason you need to get something to eat if you want to drink alcoholic beverages, which increases the bill considerably. I must add that this rule might be a thing in other places too but I haven't found anywhere else that had this rule yet in the country. There's also a very cute dog called Lola which looks like a little croquette that will stick around and let her pet her ?

Good breakfast at a reasonable cost at the heart of downtown. The first time we came we were refused service because we only wanted an afternoon coffee and not meals.

This restaurant has a delicious breakfast selection. And I like this place because you can sit outside under the arcades and have a nice view to the beautiful park. Almost like in Italy only the food is different?.

Surprisingly extremely good! Being a “foreigner” restaurant I had low expectations but wanted longaniza. Got the quesadilla and it was excellent, one of the best foods we had in Mexico! Normally I only eat at local/food cart places but this was very good. $8 usd for a quesadilla and water.
