Lou’s restaurant - 97000 Mérida

Just ate at Lou's for the first time. It has good ratings and I understand why that is the case. The food was very good and the service was top notch. There were four of us and we had a chef's special, my wife had eggplant lasagna (which I tried; it was very tasty), and two of us had chicken marsala, also very tasty. We also had bruschetta and the thai shrimp for appetizers. It was all good. Lou's has a varied menu; I'll have to go back sometime to try more of it.

Two thumbs up and five very enthusiastic stars! We tried to go there the previous night without reservations and a bit later in the evening. They couldn't accommodate us because they had run out of food. So we made reservations and went earlier the next night. They acknowledged us and remembered we had been there the night before. Their attention to detail was phenomenal and very much appreciated. The star of the evening was definitely the food.....all of it. Every appetizer dish we had was spectacular, and we particularly enjoyed the Thai shrimp with its many layers of flavours. I had a pasta dish with shrimp and it was quite spicy but very tasty. My partner had a salad complete with beets and cheese which he said was also extremely good. Dessert did not disappoint. The service was excellent....complete with visits from the owner and even the chef. This restaurant will be talked about for a long time to come.

What a wonderful meal! The restaurant is lovely - tastefully decorated, comfortable seats, perfect location. The food was also delicious - the secret spice in the starter they serve will haunt me, it’s so delicious! Don’t miss the zucchini chips, also very addicting. The pasta was al dente, the seafood perfectly cooked, and the sauce full of flavor. Desserts an indulgence! Above all, the warm service makes a nice evening a memorable one. Come for the food, enjoy the ambiance, and don’t leave without chatting with the family owners, especially Connor. They are genuinely lovely people.

really wanted to give 4 star but we need to be honest and rate the food/drinks, so the service was so cool we felt at home and for this alone we would return and try again, thai shrimp sauce was amazing with some garlic bread this is definitely recommend, but unfortunately the mains let it down, the chicken was so dry i struggled to eat it and the pasta was heavy thick cream sauce and she struggled to eat it, no cooler for the wine we had to pour ourselves but this wasn't a problem for us but maybe invest into a wine cooler for some future guests who could complains about it, thank you for your service.

Very nice restaurant! I went with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed this evening so much. Great food and drinks. The restaurant was beautiful and the owners were so friendly! Highly recommend this place!

I ate here by myself last week. Usually I feel a bit awkward going to a finer restaurant alone, but they truly made me feel very welcome. The restaurant is ran by a father and son who clearly have a passion for what they do, and they make some of the best cocktails I had in entire yucatan. The dipping sauce they gave with the appetizer was to die for. The service and atmosphere were excellent. I truly enjoyed my meal here and would definitely come back when I’m in the area again.

Possibly our favourite in the area when considering the food quality and presentation is right up there with others who charge way, way more. The service is equal to the food and the ambience. Keep up your excellent work guys. Update: Now eaten here more than a dozen times, still has us going back regularly.

We are at Lou's restaurant tonight having an amazing dinner with my wife and mom. We talked with Tommy for a few minutes, he's just awesome. He manages the restaurant that's owned by his father. We stated with the Thai shrimp and kebabs de restaurant. For dinner Fettuccine Alfredo con Camaron and Lasana de carne with a side of Pan de ajo. It was sooo good. You must stop in for dinner at Lou's when your in Merida!!! Say Hi to Tommy!!!
