Macario Bacalar - 77930 Bacalar

The food was delicious, but the behaviour of the manager who served us was very disappointing. When we ordered just a couple of drinks and a meal to share, it was quite obvious he started overlooking us and paid attention only to guests who ordered more food/drinks. At the end he even tried to charge us 1K more, probably hoping we would not notice.

Delicious food! Every plate tasted amazing, starting from starters to main dishes. Cocktails are really really good too! Nopales and shrooms risotto are must haves! Service, music are impeccable. Would travel too bacalar again too eat here.

This place was recommended to us by our hotel bartender. It really hit the spot! They start you off with a piece of toast and a black spread - it was absolutely incredible! I wanted more! We ordered the tamal to start. It was really delicious with incredible flavours. It came in a rich tomato sauce. It was big enough for a few people to take a few bites. My partner and I each got the pasta specials. The short rib ravioli… WOW! So much meat was packed inside! The butter sauce was rich and tasty! My partner had a pork belly ragu with parpadelle noodles. It was tomato based. Really yum but the short rib was by far the star of the night. Both pastas were made fresh, which was really unexpected. The decor reminded me a lot of a boho paradise. It gave me Tulum vibes (without the Tulum party atmosphere). The service was good. We walked in really early and the place was completely empty. They did this weird ‘we don’t know if we can seat you’ thing… they eventually did and the place never got full. It was a bit odd. The space is large and I could see this as a really good spot for a wedding reception.

Amazing place with great service. Not for you if you are in a rush, no. But that is not the place to do so, this is a sit down for at least an hour kind of place. Amazing food, ambience, music, drinks, everything! A magical place to savour every bite slowly. Mushroom risotto was fantastic along with the short rib

Amazing amazing food, service, cocktails, couldn’t recommend it more it is one of my favourite restaurants in Mexico. Ricardo was lovely, warm, welcoming and made the whole experience perfect. A must visit!

The food and drinks were soo good. Very nice and romantic setting as well. The owner is very and super knowledgeable with the food and wines. Went there twice during my time there and definitely will go back again when I’m back in Bacalar.

By far my fav restaurant in Bacalar, we came here for dinner and drinks and had the most wonderful time. Great service, someone was always there to make sure we had everything we need and the lovely staff made us feel right at home. The place itself is beautiful with subtle warm lighting and a lot of plants, it feels peaceful and private. The food is incredible - better than in most places in Tulum. And quite frankly, this restaurant alone would be a reason for me to come to Bacalar. Drinks were outstanding, too. If you have only one evening in Bacalar and can’t decide on where to go, this is the spot you should choose. We‘ll be back very soon. ✨

WONDERFUL experience. Such a beautiful place with not only amazing food and cocktails--but a soul. You can tell the owner and staff all very much care about their guest's experiences. It was such an amazing highlight to our trip to Bacalar.
