★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing accommodations. The host Emma was so friendly and helped us with everything we needed. She went above and beyond. The space is beautiful and the location is great! I love Madre Tierra! I highly recommend staying here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wish I could have stayed longer! The apartments were nicer in person and the whole building has so much thoughtful charm. Madre Tierra is the best deal in town, and are as convenient as you can get to the beach and shops. Thank you to the lovely hosts, who bent over backwards to accommodate us. My first choice recommendation - can't wait to come back and stay again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In general we had really nice time staying there
The good things about this place:
Location: really good! Walking distance from the beaches and from many restaurants ( and less than 10 minutes drive from the airport)
The room: big and comfortable, we took the room with the swimming pool so we had that nice balcony.
The staff: nice and helpful
Things you should know: the place is located near to a kindergarden so during the day you have noise of kids crying and screaming in the morning.
The pool is ok but not always that clean, they have some cleaning system there and water circulation but i felt comfortable just putting there my legs and not the full body, it was still nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super stay highly recommended for digital nomades !!! We booked the shared appartment - privat room with shared kitchen and bathroom in the 4th floor. The room was spacious, kitchen facilities were great, view was amazing from the room and kitchen ❤️? the team is nice as well! We would recommend everybody for long or short term stay to book this room! PS internet is great for working- especially in the first floor, where a coworking room is waiting for you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very big apartment with great internet, excellent service, co-working room and at a really good location. I stayed there for roughly two months and everything was great...but one thing (hence my low rating): the second last evening one of the receptionist came into my apartment without knocking! He was basically invading my privacy under the pretense of checking on the second room (which was free at that time) and after taking only a peak into the room, locked it up again, sat down at the kitchen table without my invitation and started talking with me. This behavior clearly startled me and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable! He knew i was staying alone in that apartment…after a couple of minutes he realized he wasn’t really welcome and on his way out he asked me to go out with him that evening. Seriously, this is absolutely unprofessional and upsetting! Not only did this make me feel incredibly unsafe (he has the keys to all the rooms and i‘m a young woman traveling alone - i mean my mind was going crazy with stories!), it was also very disrespectful of my (a guest’s!) privacy!
This was unfortunately a sad ending to my stay there, because like i said in the beginning: everything else was great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremely friendly and helpful! The rooms are very clean and well maintained, with good A/C. The rooms and hotel itself have neat decorations throughout. Loved our stay and would come back for sure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The room was fine but the building was unfinished with common areas with beautiful views not open. We also encountered unhelpful staff. We have been taking night buses across mexico for the past month and this was the first place that wouldn’t allow us to leave our bags and collect them at night before heading to the bus station. This is because reception is unstaffed at night (sometimes from 7, sometimes 8 - who knows…it was very inconsistent.) In the morning we were able to leave our bags near reception however no one informed us that we couldn’t have them there past 7pm (our bus was at 9pm). A very simple solution to this would have been to have the access code to enter and get out bags, which we had been using the previous days of our stay. They would not do this, so off we went to dinner hauling all of our luggage.
This experience was a shame and overall the building was overpriced for its simple facilities. I would not recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great time in Madre Tierra! The positives:
+ Great facilities. Good warm water pressure, generally stable internet, a coworking area downstairs. All very rare and valuable in Puerto Escondido!
+ Wonderful, attentive staff. You can request cleaning, a change of towels, fresh purified water at any time and they will oblige. Everyone is very sweet and kind.
+ A nice quiet part of the city, very close to two of the best beaches (Manzanillo and Carrizalillo), to the shops and restaurants in Rinconada, and to the centre of town for the supermarket and essentials. The main road is also very close for taxis and collectivos to Zicatela and La Punta.
+ Nice, clean and sizeable apartments. We shared our bathroom and kitchen with one other room and there was plenty of space for us. Plus we loved our flatmate!
