Beautiful place, good food, expensive. Know what you are in for, this is a great Japanese / mexican fusion restaurant. The best dishes merge both ingredients (i.e., oysters with tuna and serrano chile, spicy brussel sprouts). The sushi / Sashimi was underwhelming and for the price you can get better quality and quantity elsewhere. Where this place really shines is with desserts. I would particularly recommend the chocolate bar and the lava cake.

Wow! Never fail every time I am in Mexico City. I have tried almost everything on the menu since this my third time eating here in 3 trips. This meal was a robata and sushi meal. I need the change from tacos and other local cusine. My wife suggested Makato. She always has great ideas. Must eat in Polanco! Here’s my edit 6 months later and they have not lost their touch. Still the best Japanese in Mexico City. Great service and fast. I got some new pictures as well. Tried the creme brûlée with truffle ice cream. Wow!!!!

Went on a Sunday for lunch. Beautiful day, got a table on the terrace. We got there somewhat early, plenty of tables available, yet I would recommend a reservation. Kicked it off with veggie fried rice, very tasty. Later we had a sushi roll and lastly the short rib noodles, which were absolutely amazing. Really enjoyed my time. Staff is friendly. Note that it's expensive (more than $500 per person).

Been to makoto in Miami and Panama and now here in Mexico City and we we’re not disappointed. The service was excellent the waiters were very attentive but not over bearing and not once did we feel rush through our dinning experience. The menu is almost exactly like the original Makoto in Bal Harbour. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. We order the staples of course of Makoto, which are the Makoto salad, the crispy rice tuna and the black miso cod. We also had some other appetizers such as the truffle gyoza and the beef wagyu gyoza and the lamb chops. We couldn’t resist having moochi and we also tried the creme brûlée with truffle ice cream which was different. Overall was very pleased with this Makoto, and definitely would come back or recommend to visit specially if you’ve gone to other Makoto’s.

Amazing Japanese fusion cuisine. Great for groups or couple dinner. This place is a must if you enjoy Asian fusion, beautiful views and top notch service. Each dish was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. My top recommendations are: toro tartare, truffle tuna roll, and the wagyu carpaccio. For dessert, order the choco bar - it was the most scrumptious I’ve had in a while. Service was quick and attentive. Prices are high.

Honestly one of my favorite restaurants in Polanco Mexico City! The food here is delicious, the entire menu is awesome. A few MUST items are the Whole Cauliflower, Wagyu Short Rib and Crispy Brussels Sprouts are a perfect entree to share. The dessert YOU MUST ORDER THE TRES LECHES! The service was impeccable as always! Friendly, professional and attentive service!
