The best and freshest chocolate! Buy bars made the same day (or a day or few before). Yes fresh chocolate definitely tastes better! Each morning they made a new batch of bars ready for purchase in the afternoon. Everyday for three weeks we were greeted with the incredible smell of freshly ground chocolate each time we passed by, stopping in to buy fresh bars as needed. Not only are the bars delicious, but they are handmade and packaged in a environmentally responsible way.

The best chocolate I’ve found in Oaxaca so far! And I’ve been here for half a year... if you like dark chocolate this is a must-visit. Especially the vainilla y cocoa nibs bar :)

Best chocolate we found in Oaxaca. Feels premium and is not overly sweet. Made from bean to bar.

Any time I go to Oaxaca, I look for chocolate bars to share some hot coco with family back home. This is, by far, the tastiest, top-quality chocolate I’ve had in town. Mamá Pacha is more than a store. It’s a workshop with all of their chocolate made in-house. They’ve been in business for months only, but this is surely just the beginning. The owner and their staff (mainly Linda) are really knowledgeable, welcoming, and attentive. Even if you’re not around that area, you should pay a visit!

After seeing their chocolates stocked in a few shops, we thought we’d pay this place a visit and buy straight from the producer. We weren’t disappointed: artisanal bean-to-bar chocolates made with high-quality local and seasonal ingredients. The shop owner was very eager to treat us with delicious samples, and was a pleasure to chat with. We also loved seeing the people working in the back cutting fruits and nuts and flowers by hand and prepping them for chocolate-making. It doesn’t get more artisanal than this. Completely worth the visit. Left happily with delicious dark, passion fruit, and sea salt and almond chocolates to bring home for myself and friends.

Go in for the free smells! We got 2 chocolate bars and some Mexican vanilla. Yum! They were marking a batch of chocolate while we were there.

Best chocolate in Oaxaca. The second you walk in you’re enamored with the smell - at least I was! I’ve been a few times and got each of the chocolate bars, the hot chocolate kit, cocoa powder, and the chocolate tincture. We liked the chocolate bar so much we went back and got 13 more for friends and family. A must go when in Oaxaca.

The best chocolate in oaxaca, hands down. I am a very picky chocolate eater as my first job in high school was at a famous chocolatier. I have been disappointed by a lot of chocolate in Mexico so far unfortunately, but not at mama pacha! The chocolate has the appropriate shine, crunch, and conched to perfection. I also love the variety of flavours that are available and how the beans are sourced locally. Try it! You won’t regret it.
