Mamasan Treehouses & Cabins - 77766 Tulum

First and foremost, this hidden experience was truly amazing. The designs, decor and its location were beyond what we had expected. Carlos, Coco and Valeria whom all run the resort were the kindest humans in Tulum. They not only cared for our every need with superb recommendations but they treated us as extended family. Their rooftop restaurant and bar has an amazing food menus from morning until midnight. They even delivered to us at our tree house! Not to the fault of Mamasan, as they were established and built prior to any clubs and high end restaurants being built across and around them, but if you book and seek silent nights, make sure to request the tree houses at the rear of the property because the new nightclubs and restaurants bare their music extremely loud which can be heard from the front cabins. Valeria, Coco and Carlos understood that we wanted more tranquil and quiet nights so they upgraded us to their beautiful sky-view tree house. Thank you Carlos, Coco, Valeria and all of the Mamasan team for an unforgettable experience! We will be back.

Fantastic staff - really helpful and attentive. We were treated to great yoga and dinner recommendations, and reservations were even looked after for us. Lovely experience to be in a treehouse with comfort and style - star gazing and sunrise are special here. If you are looking for something more secluded and wholesome in Tulum, this is for you.

DON'T STAY AT THIS OVERPRICED HOTEL! We have seen the reviews about the noise & thought it won't be that loud & booked 3 nights. It was even worse, 2 generators running 24/7 and 2 clubs playing their music next to our cabin, without isolation. Even with earplugs there was no chance to sleep. As we checked-out 2 nights earlier, the staff told us "this is Tulum", they will get back to us for refund but nothing happened. We booked over booking.com and two days after, we have received a messaged that mamasam canceld the reservation, because we have "never checked in". This is their way, that you won't be able to write a review on booking.com is this is why, the review is quite good.

If you’ve read the previous reviews, I can confirm that there is in fact an AirPod thief amongst the housekeeping staff. We stayed from Fri-Tue. Nothing was taken until the cleaning Monday. We noticed Tuesday morning when we were packing up to leave. My guess is there is a different housekeeper during the weekdays who is doing this. Extremely disappointed something would get taken at a ~$300 per night place. We left a tip every single day too -_- I couldn’t give this place a 1 star though because the reception staff and restaurant staff are truly SO friendly and accommodating. The dome we stayed in was beautiful and we didn’t think the noise was that bad. You can only access the beach if you buy something from one of the beach clubs or walk 2km down the road. It wasn’t a problem but It would’ve been nice to know there wasn’t direct beach access. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until they find their thief.

We left the 'hotel' after two hours because it was impossible to relax or sleep. We checked in at 9.00 pm and left at 11.00 pm. We booked this place because of it's calming and beautiful look in the pictures. Unfortunately we didn't check the google reviews before booking. Only the ones on booking. Now reading through all the feedback here it's clear why booking is rating this place way too high! Do yourself a favor and don't stay at Mamasan Tulum! Even without the noise it's way too overpriced for what you get. We booked the most expensive room and expected to have an amazing experience in the beautiful nature of Tulum beach. The only thing you'll experience is sleeping right in front of three clubs. :D I mean.. don't call it sleeping.. you won't sleep at all.. On top the bed was super small and not comfy (not what you expect when booking a night for more than 330,- US-Dollar). The end of the story: We left the hotel - lost 660,- Dollar and booked an amazing place downtown Tulum. We tried to find a solution with them - like moving the stay to November when friends of us are coming for partying (they could have slept there, if they're fine with the quality of the accommodation).. but Mamasan is not interested at all to find any solution. I guess at least 50% of their guests are leaving and since you have to prepay you won't get any money back.. Easy to earn money that way.

Actually nice Cabins but they are not well-kept. The room itself is stunning. With the tub and view. But everything is a bit shabby and not really clean. We were looking for a peaceful and relaxing night near the beach. But it wasn’t peaceful at all. Noise level is terrible. Even when the night life slowly getting more quiet around 3am a generator of the hotel is making noises and won’t let you sleep. For the price I actually expected something better. Would not come again.

This is by the worst ‘hotel’ I have ever stayed in. I wish we never stayed there. Don’t be deceived by the 8.5 booking.com rating! The hotel is right in the centre of several bars and clubs that play music INSANELY loud to at least 3.30am even on a Monday night. Even earplugs or playing white noise through headphones will not cover it. It feels like the bed is vibrating because of the bass. We originally were meant to stay for 3 nights but had to leave after 2, the hotel do not offer refunds so instead they mark your booking as a ‘no show’ and will give you the money back if someone else books your room. However, this is a clever scam, as it means you can’t then leave a review on booking.com.

We went over winter break- The two Carlos and Valeria were amazing! If it hadn’t been for them we wouldn’t have had such a great experience. They were very welcoming, made us feel at home, and tried their best to accommodate all our needs. The rest of the staff were really nice as well. The location is great if you want to be near all the clubs and party scene. Downside is if you are in the cabins you won’t be able to sleep because it’s very noisy at night. However, the domes are farther from the street and the noise gets blocked out from inside so you are able to sleep comfortably. The food in the restaurant was delicious especially their smoothies+açaí bowls for breakfast
