I spent my last birthday in the cabana at the edge of the lake. So enjoyed the view from there. I had a pedicure and massage, after soaking in the hot tub..then a delicious lunch. It all came to me .It was a wonderful way to celebrate a milestone birthday!

February and the weather is perfect here and a bunch of us ladies are together for what we call Galentine's Day.

It was lovely, beautiful scenery, good food. I feel like if you pay a 100 peso entrada, maybe they should offer a small, complimentary cocktail or something - some small welcoming gesture. I think that would be a nice touch.

We only came here for lunch. Would love to return for a day to participate in all that's available: the lovely sun beds or loungers that have a chiminea for when the air gets cool, stand-up paddle boards, swimming, hiking, biking or horseback riding on their trails and so much more. We ate the best taco for lunch that we have ever had, the beer was nice and cold and the service good. It's a bit expensive for our budget, but we would still go 2 or 3 times in 6 months. The grounds are spacious and lovely.

This is one of the most beautiful locations with incredible staff and service! We had the Paella and it was one of the best we have ever eaten with grilled lemon and delicious seafood! The thermal pools were elegant and yet also designed for families.

We went there twice in a week. During the week, it was 600 pesos per person for the day pass. From this, you get 400 per person credit to spend. We rented two cabanas for 5 of us, had great meals and drinks. On Sunday, the day pass was 200 pesos & you pay for whatever you eat/drink. Water was warmer during the week & felt more like being in a hot spring beach. We enjoyed that.

I've been here at least 5 times in the last 3 years, and we are always annoyed and disappointed. The service is incredibly slow and terrible, every time. The only warm pool (that's supposed to be hot) is 18 and up, was actually COOL. Colder than the lukewarm kids pool. My friends actually order 2 drinks at once because you have to wait so long in between seeing a server. The food is overly fancy and mediocre. The layout is awkward and it's extremely inconvenient for kids. I won't ever go there with kids again. (And I wouldn't choose to go there with adults either unless it was a special event.) There is only one area kids are allowed in but they don't make that clear. They used to allow kids on "the beach", we rented a cabana on the beach, told them we have kids over the phone, and then showed up with kids in our arms and they still proceeded to seat us inside the cabana, let us order food, and then told us kids are not allowed in that area... They moved us, and then brought all of our food and drinks to the cabana to sit there in the sun for 40 minutes while the server tried to figure out what was taking so long. They tried to seat us on this weird sandy area away from all of the pools, the sand is too hot for the kids to touch, and you can't even see the kids pool. We chose a spot over by the kids pool, out in the boonies far away from everything and had to wait an hour in between seeing a server each time. They sent the manager over, to argue with us apparently, but also give us a full refund. After we saw the manager, it was still another hour by the time we saw the server again, and he was literally sprinting every time we saw him. I never understand why it is so bad every time. La Gruta has amazing service, all hot pools, and the land and pools are much more beautiful at Escondido Place. I would give it one star but the natural cold pool is really beautiful. The only thing I like about the place.
