Su ubicación es la calle Barragán, en el corazón de Xalapa. La historia de esta salida de agua se remonta a los tiempos del desaparecido convento franciscano, cuando se realizaron las adecuaciones para proveer del vital líquido a la población. La calle llevó alguna vez el nombre “de la Barranca”, también “de San Cristóbal”, el abastecimiento del agua de la fuente provenía del antiguo manantial Tecuanapan, ubicado a la salida del viaducto. -Xalapa Antiguo.
