★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food, great breakfast menu, very nice presentation of the plates, very reasonably priced, $180 +/- pesos for most expensive plates. Great juices. Very pleasant ambiance. We came downtown for Sunday brunch looking for a popular spot two blocks south. It was packed. So we wandered here. What a fantastic happenstance. 3 weeks in Playa so far and our best food choice. And they take credit cards!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place and delicious food and coffee. Very accommodating staff. (The waiter learned to make me a largo/ enlongee espresso, super cute guy;).
The area is quite and pleasantly away from the crowd.
Little observation: The vegan burger, had no pattie, just grilled veggs, was not vegan, but could have been.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just when you think Playa del Carmen's breakfast cafes couldn't get any busier, you stroll slightly further up fifth avenue to find this little gem. The outdoor tables under the bougainvillea provide the perfect setting for an intimate brunch and chat. The plating and presentation of the food is picture-perfect, paired with the contrasting mid-twenties baseball cap wearing gentleman waiters sporting an impeccable "at your service" demeanor makes Mar y Luna the perfect brunch spot for a slow start to the day.
