Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun - 77580 Puerto Morelos

We loved it here. My family and I came for spring break and it was amazing! Everything was beautiful, including the location and the room. The nice thing about Margaritaville is that it is on the smaller side, so it didn’t feel crowded or anything. It was a very relaxing atmosphere and we really enjoyed it. The staff here was so kind and one of the best parts of the trip. Our ambassador Aaron was the best and really made our trip special! Also wanted to give a special shout-out to Esmeralda, Patricia, Emma, and Reina in the spa, Diego at 5 O’clock Somewhere, and Luis in the Beach House. They were the best and made our day. We will be coming back!

To start, the resort and staff were great. I would have given 5 Stars but we had an issue with our room half flooding the entry and bathroom on 2 different nights (Room 1106). The first time it happened, they were quick to clean it up. The second time took about 2 hours and we had to wait for showers/start our day. Otherwise, food and service were great, the resort was very clean, a great overall all-inclusive. We would stay again.

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights for our honeymoon and we loved every second! Clearest beach on the coast as far as we could see, they’re very thorough about cleaning up any seaweed that washes on shore. Service, food, and drinks were all excellent. We especially loved the tacos at Rita’s, so many options! They always have events happening every day so you never get bored, like trivia, karaoke, beach volleyball, dancers, live bands, etc. They also have a small gym that we went to a few times to work out. The late night bar inside had the best cocktails made by Josue, I let him surprise me every time and was never disappointed! Joel, Jesús, Jose, Manuel, Armando, and Teresa were also notably helpful and friendly, among many others whose names I unfortunately forget. We definitely want to go back!

Three stars may be a little too generous, but there are some positive attributes to this resort. The beds were VERY comfortable and the staff is very nice and welcoming. There are four restaurants (two of which you need reservations), but as far as I could tell it’s almost the exact same menu every night. If you are like us and look forward to eating the delicious food Mexico has to offer…You will be disappointed. Everything was average at best and there was not much variety. Also, the beach is not as beautiful as pictured. It is very hit or miss because the sea weed is constantly disrupting the shore. WARNING: if you have vertigo or get motion sickness easily, the road down to the resort was terribly rough. You get out of the vehicle feeling rattled because of the rough journey. Overall, the resort was very clean and like new, but I cannot recommend it unfortunately.

Such a wonderful experience! The staff is super friendly and really make you feel at home. A smaller resort, so you will feel super connected to the staff and other quests. The drinks were always so great too! The bartenders inside at the Compass bar love to make fun specialty cocktails if you let them know what you like. The food and restaurants were great too! Huge fan of Rita's Taco House and the smoothie bar in the mornings. There's always entertainment happening around the resort as well whether it is a band, beach volleyball, Mexican night on Tuesday or karaoke. Had a great time!

Wow! We had an amazing time at Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya and cannot wait to come back. We traveled with our infant twins and could not have felt more welcomed, comfortable or relaxed than we did. The staff was amazing- from the bellmen that met our car to the front desk staff, the concierge team, the folks in all the restaurants, the bartenders, activities people, gardeners, housekeepers, etc. We were treated with the ultimate hospitality and kindness and everyone was so great with our babies. The grounds are spotless- everything is amazingly well maintained and beautiful. The resort is small and compact and feels very safe. For our purposes it was perfect- we wanted all inclusive and not your typical Cancun spring break crowd. Most guests were a bit older but there were a good number of families and kids and we never felt like a nuisance. The pools are sparkling and refreshing, there wasn’t a bug in sight. Endless clean and fluffy towels. Rooms appointed amazingly well with the most comfortable beds. The food was fantastic- we ate in each restaurant and tried all the bars. We were so impressed. The only challenge was getting a reservation to the Mexican heritage special dinner at Rita’s (sold out at 8:08am when opening at 8) and snagging a spot on the beach chairs in the morning. I tried two days in a row at about 7:30 only to find all the spots claimed. We instead did the pool in the morning and by lunchtime had found a shady spot on the beach with chairs. There is no question we will return to this resort. We loved our stay and are grateful for the R&R it provided.

We just returned from our stay last night. I wish I could give the resort more than 5 stars! The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional! Carmen at Joe Merchant's coffee shop made us delicious espresso drinks each morning! Perla & Reina in the St. Somewhere Spa provided rejuvenating and relaxing experiences! The food was delicious, especially at Rita's Taco Hut & Frank & Lola's Italian! The resort is on the smaller side, providing a very intimate experience. Nothing is ever that far out of reach! They had live entertainment each night and a plenty of activities during the day to occupy your time.

Brilliant resort, really relaxing and not oversized like most other resorts. First time staying in an all inclusive and it went above and beyond my expectations, all the bar staff were brilliant, especially Shelly who made sure we never ran out of drinks. Aaron who was great as the island ambassador always made sure we were happy and had no issues! Our cleaner Olga was also incredible, ensuring our room was spotless every day and we were constantly stocked with fresh towels and water. Also a special shout out to Angel in Frank and Lola’s who really went above and beyond with his service! The spa was incredibly relaxing and probably the best massage I’ve every had! Great stay and would recommend the resort to anyone wanting a perfectly relaxing break from real life.
