★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious fresh ceviche and tostados! This place is small but it's worth waiting if the tables are full. Juan and his staff are friendly and were spot on with their dish recommendations. I especially enjoyed the 'Ceviche Iron Juan' and 'Tostados Don Juan'. (Yes, Juan's name features proudly in a lot of the dishes ;) ) There are also a few TV's for watching sports and the general atmosphere is vibrant and upbeat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got 4 different items, battered fish taco, octopus, shrimp and steak, and the tuna tostado and was not impressed by any of it. The fish taco was just inedible. The octopus was the best of everything but just okay still. Being from Southern California, I have access to lots of fresh seafood and go to Tijuana often and the food here just did not compare.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good Mexican seafood in the zone. It has a simple but original menu. I personally prefer spicy seafood, and this place met all my expectations (keep in mind if you're not a huge fan, for example the aguachile is more spicy than average). I recommend their shrimp tacos or their octopus tostadas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my second visit to Mariscos Juan. I was last here three years ago. The food and especially the service were outstanding then. I returned today and had the same experience--exquisite seafood and amazing service. In fact, one of the servers from today is the same one I met three years ago. What I remembered from three years ago is that I was treated as if I were in their home. The attention and concern about the customer's experience are genuine. Oh, and if you don't eat seafood, the sister restaurant right next door called MR Condesa serves all sorts of meat dishes. And you get the same servers ???
