★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Set on a quiet back street just a block off the central plaza, Marralaca had only been open a month at the time of my visit. Over the hour I sat on the pleasant front veranda, maybe only three other diners came and went. It's a shame, since they have a focused menu and staff who wants to please.
My sampling from the menu was small, as I had only a flaky and tasty Argentine empanada and the baked pork ribs. The pork was very meaty, moist and seasoned beautifully, with no sauce necessary, served on a bed of masked potatoes. Nicely attentive service, too, enough to make this new offering a solid, slightly upscale option right in town.
