★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A principios de los años 60 el gobierno federal expropió un área cercana a las 100 hectáreas para construir la Unidad Tlatelolco y dentro del diseño de la misma se determinó que tendría un cine de primer nivel.
El Cine Tlatelololco se inaugura en 1968 con la película de Luis Buñel "Bella de Día" después se exhibieron otras de excelente calidad como "El Graduado" "Perdidos en la Noche" "El Padrino" y muchas más.
Alrededor del cine había una plaza comercial “La Fabre” entre otras tiendas había una de trajes para caballero, damas, así como otra de trajes de novia, zapaterías y dos cafeterías.
El cine originalmente perteneció a la cadena de Carlos Amador que seguramente lo tuvo mediante un convenio de comodato, hasta que fue expropiado igual que otros cines por el presidente López Portillo, para ser adquirido posteriormente por Alberto Sada Raffoul en 1995 que lo transformó en cuatro salas relativamente pequeñas donde trató de promover películas mexicanas pero no tuvo éxito y quebró cerrando desde en enero de 1997. Tiene casi quince años abandonado.
In the early 60's the federal government expropriated an area close to 100 hectares to build the Tlatelolco Unit and within its design it was determined that it would have a first level cinema.
The Tlatelololco Cinema opens in 1968 with Luis Buñel's film "Bella de Día" after others of excellent quality such as "The Graduate" "Lost in the Night" "The Godfather" and many more were shown.
Around the cinema there was a “La Fabre” shopping plaza, among other stores, there was one for men's suits, ladies, as well as another one for bridal gowns, shoe stores and two coffee shops.
The cinema originally belonged to the Carlos Amador chain that probably had it through a bailment agreement, until it was expropriated like other cinemas by President López Portillo, to be subsequently acquired by Alberto Sada Raffoul in 1995 that transformed it into four rooms relatively small where he tried to promote Mexican films but was unsuccessful and broke down since January 1997. He has been abandoned for almost fifteen years.
