★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mayan Flea Market at Progreso Mexico is a joke! It’s a small flea way off land with many dishonest people working the shops. I went into a leather shop that also sold jewel in it. Beware and do not shop there. I bout a piece of jewel for my wife in this shop. They double ran my credit card. One for my purchase and another for $260.00 boots. It’s not even worth going on a cruise that stops at Progreso Mexico. Also, the water around this port looks nasty and you can’t even see two feet into the water. Stay away!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I will go again; bargain on jewelry, not artwork. They all want you coming in to their shop, be mindful the seller can’t say the product is not silver, take their word for it.
Also, it’s best to know the word (bonyo) which is how you pronounce the Spanish word for “bathroom”. As well as (Poe-fa-vor) which is how you pronounce “thank you”.
