★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reasonably priced hotel with large pool. When I was there there was construction on one side and demolition on the other. That won't be there forever. OXXO nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nicely appointed resort. Starting to show a little fraying around the edges though. But also appears to be erecting a new tower on the property, so things could change rapidly.
I was here for a timeshare presentation so I don't really know enough to say how good it really is, but first impression matters, and this resort gives a good first impression.
Staff making breakfast could use a little friendliness and customer service training. Other staff seemed wonderful.
(No, I didn't buy the timeshare - already have one (I like).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's okay, a little pricey, a lot of construction on course, good bed, AC with only cooler and not heater. Excellent service, A+ food, B+ drinks, but you can BYOB. Please avoid the presentation, it would steal you precious time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is not the morning in paradise you expect. At 6:50am the shovels hit the ground. We arrived on Wednesday and we were hoping thisChristmas week the hotel would put construction on hold. We were wrong. To make it more peaceful I try to pretend the jackhammers are woodpeckers.
The staff are awesome the pool area is nice, even with the woodpeckers. The beach was nice and peaceful for a couple days then the guy with a sledgehammer started smashing up the stairs while we were down there trying to get away from the woodpeckers by the hotel and pool.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm sure it was nice in the 1970's. I liked it since it was not crowded vs. a larger resort. Nice to see they have plans for beginning to bring it up to date during the next two years.
Their food reminds me of an amusement park type of food, simple and plain .
Their beach is nice to sit or lay out at, but rocky once you hit the water.
Nice staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mayan Palace (Mazatlan Mexico) is very outdated, 1980s.
Most important is, Mayan Palace has NO FILTERED WATER for their guests to drink nor cook with, charging you for a quart size bottle of water and coffee before you check out.
This is very much like Motel 6. They advertise FULL size kitchen, when it only has two burner plate, RV size mini fridge.
Up and early to rise by 6:30 AM because of construction and jack hammer going until 6PM.
Very far from Airport with NO shuttle service to and from. $40.00 each way.
10 miles just to get to town, grocery store is quite a distance.
Beware folks before you stay at this resort!
Check it out first before booking.
