★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love, love, love Mazatlan. I have been going there at least once a year for over 15 years now and recently purchased a home down there. My family from my mom's side lives there and it is definitely my 2nd home. Having said all of thise, the worst part of traveling to Mazatlan is the airport on the flight home. It is very cramped, AC is rarely turned on even during the summer months, limited seating in the gate areas and limited options for dining. This place has been due for an update for many, many years now.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great airport. Perfect size. Easy access, easy parking, inside has just the right amount of shops. Wish all airports were that size. And of course, all personnel were helpful, professional and kind.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They get it done but they do it their way. When arriving: no real issues. When departing: Be warned, do your eating and drinking and waiting before you go through security. You will be shocked at how small, hot, and service-less things are once you are through.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This airport is quite a distance from town and the taxis are expensive with no public or cheaper option.
The airport is small and can get very cramped when multiple flights leaving at around the same time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arriving.
Restrooms are available before customs.
Expect a wait going through customs, getting luggage & waiting for airport taxi.
Only other vehicles allowed, are resort vans.
Time share representatives, in the airport, hold up taxi service signs, they won't get you a taxi.
Departure.
Helpful staff filling out covid-19 paper work for departure.
Checking in luggage. Lines can be long but move swiftly.
Restrooms are on main floor and after you go through the security check point.
Not many eating areas when you go through security. No vegetarian options for eating offered. Water is 64 pesos. Hydrate, they may be closed. Bring your own sandwiches, snacks, etc. through security.
