★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a find! The owner is from Rome and his Italian eplomb de cuisine shines through! The menu, although small, is fabulous. The produce is fresh and the homemade pastas are perfectly cooked. The sauces are complex and delightfully seasoned, with a subtle Mexican undertone, thanks to his wife. Our party highly recommends the Portobello Appetizer. This sublime dish is more than enough for one as a meal, or is large enough to be shared by 2 - 4 as an app. Mediterraneo jumped to #1 on our favorite Chapala restaurants. Reservations are highly recommended. It gets busy in the evening and on the weekends.
