★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They're getting there...little by little. There are places to eat in the back with a cool breeze and a wide view of the beach and the Pacific ocean.
If you know Vanesas in the downtown market place, well there's a Vanesitas here. Fruit juices/salads.
You can get cheeses, baked goods, paletas, clothes, fruit and veggies.
I think it has everything the town market has but, so far, a lot less of it.
It's still getting worked on, but it is now a functional market place/ 'mercado'.
Lots of parking space. Public washrooms.
And I only checked out one of the two huge buildings. Perhaps the side I didn't see is where the meat and fish stalls are located.
Except for a table of loud foul-mouthed extranjeros, I have no complaints. ☺

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Navidad Mercado is certainly no Benito Juarez Mercado (in the Centro) but it is a nice place to shop with good vendors and some great ¡Restaurantes!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only opened since November 2018, this collective market is up and coming. We bought shrimp, vegetables and rice. Products were good as were the prices. We had lunch looking out at the ocean. There are 5 or 6 restaurants in the first row looking at the ocean. Worth a visit if you need groceries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went here to buy some groceries for dinner and was supper happy with the service and the prices. We bought veg and fruits for much less in the main market in Escondido and the fish that we bought red snapper was super super fresh! They close relatively early though. Went back for more fish and they were closed by 16. The fruit stand were still open though. Really really liked it here. Was there in the off season so lots of stalls weren't open.
