It was a good experience. But it seemed as if almost all the vendors were selling the same stuff. You have to try to get the prices down if you really want something.

Very aggressive sellers they will charge u over price for everything even for parking. We couldn't really enjoy ourselves the food was water done over price. I wouldn't go back unless I was on a tourists resort. The beach not clean and there's men holding toilet paper for charge in the public beach bathroom very unreal we were to scard to go anywhere else

We went upstairs for lunch. Nice balcony area with 4 different restaurants to choose from that you can choose from with the same server. I could also see the beach area being a fun weekend spot with the large outdoor entertainment stage & sound system.

We love this shopping area, centrally located in the hotel zone. Lots of variety, from jewelry to toys to clothes. Little bit of everything mexico here and great prices. Everything is subject to negotiations, shop around before you buy and find the best deals.

Went here instead of going all the way into downtown/Mercado 23 or 28 since our hotel was on the south end of the hotel zone and there was so much yelling at you! It’s so annoying! I don’t like to be yelled at when I’m shopping. I am NOT an impulse shopper and I don’t like being watched constantly. Good lord when will they learn that Americans do not enjoy being shouted at. It makes me feel like cattle. Ugh

It's a flea market with relentless badgering by the shop owners. Everything here is open to negotiation. In most cases you can take them down 45-50% of the asking price. I wanted to buy Cuban cigars. The average asking price was $11 to $12 per cigar based on a 12 count. My final walk off was $5.50 each. My wife made a great deal on some silver jewelry. A fun place to go if you don't mind the constant hassle.

If you are coming from the USA, go on and have your own pesos and practiced Spanish phrase for “not today “ responses before going, unless you like to haggle. They don’t let up!!!! They have great things in the shopping plaza, but just don’t buy the same day you visit. Look around and take a mental note. Remember the prices. Go to your hotel and decide which vendors you want to buy the gifts from. ( all of it’s the same* and the deal offered will be available when you return.)

Awesome market! I was able to get my engagement ring resized here in 30 minutes for 30 dollars. They did an amazing job and gave me the leftover piece of gold. Bought some cigars and tshirts from another vendor who is of Mayan heritage and went into great detail with sharing the story and history behind the designs of the Mayan art on the shirts we purchased. Incredible. Explained a ton about cigars and the do’s/don’ts with certain brands. The same dealer then escorted us to the taco vendor that “only they go to”, located tucked away behind the Mercado. They take any form of payment. Tacos were great! Beef and cheese empanada was my favorite - SO good. We also ordered horchata and pina fresca - very good and massive size. The tacos were just OK - we ordered el pastor and steak. Not much flavor on either taco and the el pastor had zero pineapple. They were edible but disappointing. Paid $20 USD for our entire meal so it was a great value!
