★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice mercado with some shops as well as an artesanal expi in the adjoining park. Black as well as the brown mud art was fantastic. And quite inexpensive. Found parking easily in the street next to it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love seeing the black pottery and find the work beautiful, but fragile. My friends bought quite a few pieces, but upon return to the US, found two or three pieces cracked and broken. The dishware seems to hold up better. One of the vendors welcomed us into their home/studio to show us the process of making black pottery. The people are just very friendly and I felt priveliged to see the amount of work that goes into making their beautiful artwork. Also, it was amazing to check out the other vendors/artists because when you speak with them about pieces I bought already, they already know which artist/vendor it came from based on the design. So although things looked similar to me, they were able to point out differences in the pieces to help identify which vendor the piece actually comes from.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great market full of beautiful black clay pieces. They are back open with strict COVID guidelines. (Spraying hand sanitizer upon entering, as well as spraying your clothing with a disinfectant.) All the clay pieces are absolutely beautiful and it’s amazing to see all the work put into them. While they all look the same to me, the vendors can tell the difference between the pieces and which artist made them. Prices are reasonable, especially for the amount of work that went into them.
